If he gets the R/T redneck you forgot to mention he will need to buy a new electro hopper.

Save your money and buy the A-5!

Actually if in the end you're worried about getting the best bang for your buck don't bother looking at tippmanns, by the time you spend $500 upgrading it how you wanted you could've had a much better marker for the money spent.

First off is it a Model 98(it has gills) or the 98 Custom?  If you have the 98c(98Custom) it will be more upgradable.  I would say get the following upgrades for the kind of play listed:

Woodsball

Flatline Barrel for range or 12" J+J Ceramic for more accuracy.

Good 4+1 Harness

Remote Line

20 oz CO2(if you don't have a big tank)

R/T(Response Trigger)

Expansion Chamber

That's a pretty good list.  Now lets move on to speedball upgrades.

Speedball

12" J+J Ceramic

E-Bolt(or wait for new E-Grip to come out)

On most fields R/T's aren't allowed.  If they are on yours and you want to save money get that instead of the E-Bolt/new E-Grip.  YOU CAN'T HAVE BOTH!  Just to let you know.

HPA (instead of CO2)

Regulator

Double Trigger

That's all I can think of at the moment.  Good luck.  These are some good upgrades for the 98c(Custom).  Good luck, welcome to the forum, and happy paintballing.

if u buy just a double trigger does it just mean u can fire pretty much as fast as ur fingers allow, unless ur fingers are super speedy?

The double trigger just helps the speed if you learn to walk it.  Your gun can only go so fast, and your hopper will only feed so fast.  Well it can help you speed up your speed, but otherwise it will just help the feel of your marker.

Unless you have the E-Bolt/Grip a double trigger isn't nessesary.

I find it actually slows my R/T down.

If you get an a5 be sure to get a new barrel. I dont kno about anyone else but my stock barrel just didn't work for me that well. I don't kno if it was my paint or what but I got a new one quick. Also if your not a tournament player or not that serious (just games at someones land one the weekends) don't worry too much about upgrades. Get ones you think you need and save money for paint. But if your a tournament player then listen to those guys they named alot of good ones.
