Dis is old news and i dont even have an ipod even though i want one. Ohh and you can just crack the case yes the shiny chrome does come off the white plastic -------------

Meh, my third gen died of unnatural disk failure a while back, so I've been out of contention for a replacement for a while. I actually got something about this in the mail last week. I guess apple doesn't know I've went through two more since then.
It was a nice gesture on their part, though. |

I don't like iPods, as far as actual value goes.
Way too easy to break, and they aren't actually very good quality, although they look nice. Maybe an iPod case to put on my shelf? |

Here's the thing: I use one of my friend's every day. They are not very well built. Maybe that's industry standard, I don't know. But my friend's 4th gen gets about 4 hours of play without backlighting on. It ain't that great. That, and while they may feel good, the stock cases are easy as crap to dent and chip-hence all the covers for 'em. I already bought a $250+ item, why should I ever have to buy anything for it again? Sorry, maybe that's just me. It's just an MP3 player, not a car. I shouldn't have to keep upgrading. Plus, I'd rather be spending the money on paintball, which I would use less, but have more fun with. Or biking. *EDIT* I dropped my friends U2 iPod, and it developed a skip for 15 minutes...and a sizable dent. Then again, it was 4 feet off the floor, onto tile. That's what you get for putting it behind my elbow, you twit(yeah, you Earle)! |

All that said, if someone wants to send me their's...I'll take it.
Plus, they get stolen a lot. I know at least 10 people in my school who've lost their's, all good friends of mine. Lots more people who I don't personally know have-reported theft has gone up a couple hundred percent in the last year, and most of those are MP3 players, of which 80%+ are iPods(what can I say, I live in West Windsor, we all have too much money). I'd be a lot happier if Apple's product was more reliable than the cheaper copies of it...but it's not. It might be equal... *EDIT* See Ced's post above. *EDIT 2* That said though, I've noticed that the iPod minis do kick butt. I have been thinking about getting one of those-they seem to suck significantly less. Kid in my school was selling his Creative to fund his iPod for $80. My friend bought it-nice deal. |

i'm selling my ipod for a zen touch...the thing is a piece of
crap...the 4th generations crash like crazy after about 5 months of
use...and the battery is terrible...i only get about 3 hours out of it

Haha, how do minis "suck" less? Look what you pay, for the amount of storage you get... 20 gig is way more worth it. And people who whine you cant do anything else on iPods dont have a clue. There are tons of things/ apps for iPods.

yeah, ipods arent meant for dumbasses that drop them. they're $300 and shouldnt be treated as something cheap. the acrylic front is easily chipped and cracked. ruins the whole ipod. A $25 case is too much for you people in "west windsor"? The ipod doesnt drop itself, right? And about that battery life; four hours for a 4th gen is rediculous. either you're exagerating alot or making it up. There's a reason why the 4th gen doesnt get a battery replacement.

My battery life on my iPod mini has been terrible, ive tried to call the store, but they're always buisy. The battery life is around 3 hours now. I don't know exactly how long it should be, but im sure longer than that. /me is pissed -------------

4th generations don't get up to the 12 hours as promised...they only get about 2-4 and no one is exagerrating...about every kid has an ipod now -------------

Yeah. I have noticed on the mini if you have a full battery and you dont listen to it for a while it is practically drained is it supposed to do that? im still glad i bought one though. use it all the time. I live in a really small town where no one has ipods so this has made me really popular |

well now choopie...i must say..... MAC users UNITE!!!!! i have an imac, an i book, and then my moms school (shes a teacher) gave her an ibook (w/ the big screen) to use!!!!
ps i have an ipod mini and i have no problem with it.....also my freind chris hooker (yes his last name is hooker)had this 50 dollar mp3 player which literally exploded...it was the funiest thing...it started smoking...and then it went boom....2 days later he got a shuffle and he loves it..... |
