I hear that the J+J Ceramic Barrel will actually make your gun quieter.  Otherwise I don't think there's much you can do.  There was a mod that you can take heat shrink tubing and put it around your springs.  It might help, but I would search before doing any modifications to your marker.

^Those are the two things I could think of as well. I was going to do the silenced sear spring mod from model98.net, but since it's down I dont know what I'm doing.

Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

Most of the noise you hear when firing is your sear.

Having a heavily ported barrel will also help.

Like he said, a barrel with lots of porting is good. The 32* Whisper Barrel is very quiet. The J&J Ceramic is also quite quiet. Heat shrink tubing on the sear spring helps a little. LPK is the best solution though.

Iv heard of this one mod where you glue thin leather or vinil to the face of your rear bolt as well as the back. Never tried it so I dont know of any negative effects.

Put some distance or a topo feature between yourself and your targets.

Think and give them all you have from the beginning, and never weaken!

J and J ceramic I Actually real quite. When I had my minimag with a J and J it was accurate and quiet(er) than it was.

MOdding your gun is an iffy subject because there are so many things you could do to void your warrenty/ mess up your gun.

Get a piece of heat shrink tubing that is just big enough to slide over the sear spring. Cut the heat shrink tubing so it is long enough to cover the spring when it is stretched (when the spring is connected to the sear and the little pin inside the gun). This makes the pinging noises go away.

The J&J is pretty quiet, but its not that quiet on a Tippmann and theres more quiet barrels out there. AutoMags are naturaly very quiet because they are LP and the blow-forward design. My friend has a Classic with J&J and I can barly hear him fire. But its a differant story on a Tippmann because they are HP and blowback.

Actualy HPA (air) is louder than Co2. Lower density= louder sound. This is because gases with a lower density compress more easily, and propell other gas molecules around them with more acceleration. For example- water has a high density and does not compress much or well, thats why youll never see a huge loud water explosion.

A new barrel would be your best bet. Not only should any barrel with porting be quieter but you should upgrade your barrel anyways for accuracy reasons. Try turning down your velocity a bit, might make it quieter.

No matter how soft the shot is, whoever your shooting at and the people around are going to hear you shoot.

Theres only one way around it, and thats a silencer. Paintball silencers used to be used back in the old days when paintball was just developing as a sport. Then the ATF stepped in and deemed them Illegal because they could be adapted to fit on a real firearm. Now in order to use one you have to pay a $200 stamp tax and fill out some hefty paperwork.

Yes, but you can quiet it down.  Anyway, it doesn't care if they hear you.  They're bound to anyway.

Yeah but a quieter gun just sounds cooler in my opinion
