Well guys, as you know I've been tinkering with the idea of selling my A-5 for an Ion. Since I've been an A-5 owner most of my paintball career I have no clue about electro hoppers.
I've been looking at the
- Evolution II
- Ricochet Apache
- Viewloader Tripod
- Halo TSA
I know the Apache is the fastest out of them(20bps, followed by the Evolution II at 17bps) but I want to know what you guys think.
I don't have the money for a halo B right now, but I will get it sometime in the future.

i used Halo costs about the same as the Apche, and its so much better
And dont buy an ion. Buy a real high end gun.
Used Matrixes, angels, and e-mags are a little more than a very upgraded ion.

Its either Ion, or stick with the A-5. I'm not spending money on a real high end gun untill I get myself out of the woods more.

I could find you a angel for 400$.

No thanks, I'd have some serious problems taking an Angel into the woods.
Hell, I'm even worried about the ion in the woods.

I've held the Ion, and it feels like crap. The barrel on it is crap, and the reg can blow if you don't set it correctly the first time. I personally hate the way they feel. Plus, it's capped at 17 bps- the Cyclone can feed that fast. Eggy gets my vote.

Yea I'll have to agree here. I sold my E98 for an ION not to long ago
and even though it is not that bad of a gun I just dislike the feel of
it so much that I am going to try to sell it and buy an Autococker or
Custom Pro E. But go with an Eggy if you get an Ion.

sell out.
Just get an egrip.
And I dont know where you get your prices at. Action village has the Apache led and lcd for $50, but those would look stupid on a Ion.
Get an egg.

Prices were from County.
Got a link to where you found those prices?
Yes I regret it, but I may become a sellout.

Yes, I'm not sure if I can afford a large tank right now. I'm thinking something smaller like 72/3000

72cu isnt that small :P
Anyways, stick to the A-5. The ION is nothing special..., if your going tourney, get a lower cost 'Cocker or something...

Seriously man Ive seen tippmanns in the ultimate madness 3 on 3 tourny and they performed just as well and in some cases better than " high end guns".
And with all the rule changes going on to 15 bps max in the paintball leagues, those extra bps are useless if your going to be playing tourneys. Save your money and just upgrade your A5 or heck just keep it and get a custom pro E.

I'm looking for a little better performance than I have now with teh A-5. I want something I can go from woods to speed with without the big bulky cyclone feed.

Egg
Ions cant cylce faster then 17bps. I'd also like to see some actually get 17bps on an Ion in the first place.

If you are going to save up for a Halo B later and also get an Ion, I would sugges not wasting your money on any of those hoppers and just buy whatever you want all at one so you don''t waste $80 on a hopper you won't use anymore because of your Halo.

Check this marker out before getting an Ion, its a lot better of a gun.
Just my 2 cents.
The wait is over! We've
tested the Ion and we were very under impressed with how cheaply built
it is. Here is a much better built new marker from ACI called the Blind
Rage and is it packed with features. First of all it is equiped with
break beam eyes so say bye-bye to chopped paint. It also has a gripping
feed neck, delrin bolt, inline regulator, variable speed trigger
system, adjustable trigger blade, autococker threaded two piece barrel
that can be converted from a 14" to a 9" barrel, and is available in 3
different fade combinations.

^I agree. You never know if these things really work like they say they should. The well-known markers are much easier to buy and if you ever have a question about it, people will actually know what kind of marker you are talking about.

i don't believe it the first post started by ywsm (that i've seen) and you're thinking of selling your A-5 I would try to hang on to the A-5 if possible and still get a diffrent marker i know it's hard to justify having 2 markers laying around. may i suggest you try some friends guns out that's the beauty of paint ball everyone seems to be pretty friendly to one another enen if you don't know someone at your local field that well usualy they will let you shoot their marker, heck i've even had guys try to encourage me to play a round with their marker. just think it over well ywsm i think wou will kick yourself after the fact.
