Playing a bit of screwball, I rolled through a patch of poison ivy...I was wearing a short-sleeved shirt...now my entire bicep region is freakishly bubbly looking...theres poison ivy all the way down to my hand...and theres some on my back...and my neck...I must be algeric to poison ivy...last year, the same place on my arm was completely raw, oozing...grosstastic....
Luckily, my girlfriend won't be back from Iowa for a week...so I wrapped it in duct tape, desperate for a cure....gah...I hope it clears up...
No pics, I'm at my cousins for a week or so, and he doesnt have a digital camera

I heard in the thread about this last week that rubbing more posion oak on your body cures you faster because it spreads the rash thinner.
Poison Ivy, too.

I hear starting fluid is increulusly effective, but I don't have any...

Consdiering you have an allergic reaction already from the Ivy, I dont
think the tape is doing any good. Take it off and wash your arm.

Wash it and leave it the crap alone. Nothing you can do at this
point will be an insta-cure. The most you can hope to do is keep
it from becoming infected. You are constantly digging yourself
into a deeper hole.

I used to get into poison ivy a lot. Ive gotten into so much of it, that now, im not alergic to it anymore. The trick is, to go to a faucet, and turn it to hot. Put your arm under it, and let the hot water run almost until it burns you. Really go as long as you can, but dont over do it. It will help, might even cure it.

No pics, I'm at my cousins for a week or so, and he doesnt have a digital camera | YAH we are almost twins. My thread not to long ago had people telling me what to do because it itches. When taking a shower, slowly turn up the temperature of the water up as high as you possibly can stand and spray it on infected areas for a while. It itches like crazy when doing this but I would only rub the rashes and not scratch. This is a cure for the itch. Repeat every day if possible. Doing it twice ina day is also better. Go get some ivy itch cream to soothe the random itches during the day. When I properly treated my rashes, I used technu by oak-n-ivy brand. It works great. If possible go swimming in a pool because the chlorine works wonders. Made my rashes reduce in redness and visibility by 30-50%. My neck is finally curing from the poison ivy I had gotten into.

take a bar of soap and leave it in a little water over night. in the morning the bottom should be realy slimey.

take a shower and wash good then when you get out take some of the slimey soap and coat the area well. let it dry and dont itch. it will be better in a few days.

the rash you get from poison ivy is from urushiol oil off the plant.
the best way to get rid of it is to get the oil off your skin. A couple
years ago I had it really badly and I tried this ivy dry scrub which
claimed to wash all the urushiol oil off your skin. The rash went away
in about 2 days. The stuff really works I kid you not I use it
everytime I get poison ivy. The only problem is that its pretty
expensive (iirc 18 bucks at my cvs for one tube.) But i found it to be
worth it since my poison ivy rashes allways clear up so quickly when I
use it.
