For those of you who didn't see my first thread ("Forum Musicians...") what we're doing here is compiling a cd of songs recorded by forumers. They can be covers, original works, or collaberations. Songs can be as serious or goofy as you like. Everyone who plans on contributing needs to somehow let me know what they'll be doing (you must include the name, original artist, and instrument(s) that will be included on the track you submit); so either pm me, IM me, or post here what you'll be doing. DO NOT post the actual product.... That's no fun. When you're done you need to send me the file (or link to the file) and i'll organize things from there. Tracklist (thus far): Prodigy - A very poorly recorded/played/sung cover of Leonard Cohen's Chelsea Hotel No. 2* Riveroath Rebellion (Koolit) - Upon a Heartbreak Tumor* Cedric - A cover of The Mars Volta's Televators holysmartone - New American Classic by Taking Back Sunday Gopher - Some song nobody cares about  *

iv got a web site with a few songs recorded, soon to add a few more includeing 2 songs i have written myself and am in the proccess of recording right now. my new songs should get posted on my website in the next few days. I'll get a link posted back up here for anyone else who wants to here any of my other stuff after the forum cd is completed this the coolest thread iv seen yet, good idea prodigy |

If this one turns out good, we should keep this going. Have like a Vol. 1, Vol. 2, ect. thing. It would be really cool to keep seeing these comeing and to see what different people are comeing up with. Food for thought |

Personally, I think it would be more fun to have a real CD sent to you (with cover art done by a forumer?). At the same time, though, it'd be kind of a pain to do that. We'll have to see. -------------

Is there a length the song has to be? I just made a 30 second version
of 'In da Club'. If anybody wants to send me the full instrumental

I like this. If you end up out of the country before it comes to completion, Prod, I'll take it over.
I'll go one better, if the music hasn't been distributed before July 18th I'll burn, package, and mail CD's out to anyone who wants one, provided they A) send me the aforementioned package with pre-paid postage, blank CD, and Etc. or B) send me a few bucks(less than five) for a quality CD + jewel case + shipping. OR C) don't mind getting a possibly crappy quality CD packaged and shipped as cheaply as I can and at my own convenience, but they aren't out anything. I would offer my services starting now, but I'm moving furniture, rearranging, and moving the wife in still. If you do a volume two later down the road, I should definately be up for that. |

Its cool. It has taken us a little longer to get settled in than I had originally thought it would anyway. I could use the extra time to finish the wedding video anyway. And refinishing an armoire. And unboxing/finding places for/returning wedding gifts. And the last of the unpacking. And the start of the redecorating...
It never ends. But yeah, when you get a chance PM me and we'll discuss the who/what/how aspects of what you want me to do, and even if I need to take over the aquisition of songs if people wait around past your due date. |
