What's your opinion on barrel length, I am perchasing a 8" Lapco, I already have a 14" 32 degree, which I'm not too exited about. I wanted a J+J to replace my 32 degree barrel and try it out. Would you get a 12" or a 14"? Other barrel recomendations and general opinions are welcome, but I've wanted a J+J for a while, they look so stealth and from what I have read it will be way quieter than my lapco and are a good barrel in general from pbreviews.com. Please respond, thanks!!!

Well, if you want more maneuverability then you should get the 12". If you want easier aiming then go for the 14". Barrel length really doesnt matter as long as you dont go over 14".

Are you happy with the length of your 14" inch? You find it too long? If so go down to 12". You already have an 8" and 14" so you are the best judge of what length is good.

I am very happy with my 14" i don't find it too long. I have never used a 12" so i cannot compare the 2 lengths.

I'd go for the 12".  Anything past that is just a waste.  It's longer and not much more accurate, if more accurate at all.  Deffinetly 12".

Smitty do you have a 12" and 14"? Or did you have a 14" and then go down to a 12"???? If you did why would you, it's only 2 frigin' inches less. There would be no performnce difference between the 2 lengths except that with a 14" you would be 2" closer to your target. I'd say if you go to a 21" barrel then i would probebly maybe see a problem. Way to long to manuver that thing around bunkers, trees ect....

I have a 14in J&J. It seems like its just a tiny bit too long and my gun feels kind of bulky. When I get a new barrel Im going with a 12in.

Duuuuude, get like a 21in, youll like shoot like sooo much further dude. Like you can shoot double the Flatline, no lie dude. Be a sniper and kill everyone on the feild before they even know, dude.

12"... i had a 14" Progressive on my 98c, and now a 12" Teardrop on my 'cocker, for me, if i could find a 10" id buy it, the extra length is fairly useless

but you will get used to having either one, its not a huge life-changing descision,

I've had neither, but I can see where the 2" could make a difference.  If there's no more accuracy added, why get the extra 2"?  It's just 2" wasted.  Usually the 2" costs more too.  Just get the 12".  Just my 2 cents.

I have owned a
16 inch
14 inch
12 inch
barrels.

I perfered the 12 inch. It was great. The second favorite was the 16 inch. It was great in air ball for moving the bunkers.

Smitty did you actualy go to the site i linked? If you did you would see that it is a search engine for paintball gear/parts. Example in the search you but Bigshot then you would see that it tells you which online company has them and at what price. And if you look closely you will see County is mentioned there.

What if it was a flatline in your opinion? Even though very expensive.

If i was rich, I'd just by it all and try it myself! That would be fun.

I like 12" better because a 12 inch and a 14 inch will preform exactly the same, you are just wasting more air with a 14".

It depends on what you play, if woods, get a 14".
If you play speedball then get a 16", it makes it easier to move the bunkers around.

BTW- On a tippmann, the length of the barrel will make no difference in efficiency since the velociy is changed meerely by obstructing airflow. The same ammount of air is used regardless of barrel length until you have to up the spring tension to keep a decent velocity (somewhere around the 21" barrel range).
The only type of marker that it will really matter how long your barrel is (and I mean a difference of maybe 5 shots per tank) is on a high end electropnumatic because the ammount of air released is dependant on how long the dwell, and how high the LPR pressure is.

I would go with the 12" unless you play on the fields with the lame inflatable crap that you can push on. The Flatline is overpriced for the minor advantage it gives in actual gameplay combined with it's appetite for mostly expenesive small bore paint.  You like your shorter one more that you have now... so go with the 12". Wahoo irritated speedball and woodsball players in one post, but it's the truth.
