Ok, I see that the Star system now works and all, but is the mods who
dish out the stars still or the forum system? I've noticed quite
a few have been promoted. I read the thread by Enos, and he said it
randomly picks people out, but there has to be somthing behind this... Anyone got a clue how this thing works? -------------

Why the craze over stars. Big deal, one more forum you can post in? How in the world am I gone for lie 3 days and people turn up platinum from being a member?
They shouldn't just be random, they should be a visual way to show other members to give that particular forum member some credit and definetely respect. Can anyone link me to a thread in which some of this is explained? |

I think its ridiculous that some of the people that started several flame-fests in the past are now multi-stared members. Its not by post count. The star system picked out random people. Altough my thoery seems to make sense, it doesn't account for sniper(or frozen, whatever your name is) account being stared. |

its too wierd and erratic right now to find a reason for all this i would like to know a. how a member joins and gets made mod without a single post b. when that was and if it was the first star promotion lately c. why darur is the only one whose lost a star d. is it just a coincidence that no golds have gone to plat and that only members have jumped straight to plat and e. how jason kept his post count per day so high without logging on in the last 8 months. now i think the answer to the last one may be that its the # of posts per day THAT UR LOGGED ON. and not the # of posts for every single day...like maybe it only counts days u log on and if it doesnt then how does he hide the fact that hes been online lately or why would he want to for that matter? and i personally have never seen him post in any regular forums ever i even did a search for all topics started by him or posted in by him a long time ago. ill do one again in a sec and see what turns up. ------------- Rockin' the Ironman Intimidator. Cept I wasnt on the forum. As far as I can tell it happened around prime time on the forum and I was playing BF2 (which btw is turning out to be a bit of a dissapointment). Let's get this straight, the star system doesn't freaking work. It's just broken all together, can anyone think of a reason why MODS wouldn't be able to promote someone, and an ADMIN would? Other than having more internet power, they both go through the same script to add/remove stars. Sure, it's possible to add and remove stars, by editing the forum's database directly. I recall Enos saying he couldn't promote people. So what we have is a glitch, overflow, or what-have-you with the database. Either that, or someone is tinkering with it. Now, this might all be true, but it is a bit more rational than "OMG IT PROMOTES AT RANDOM", "HIM AND HIM WERE ON AND THEY GOT PROMOTED THAT'S IT I'M RIGHT", and it certainly isn't post count. |

i was lookin in the memebers directory and searched for jason and i noticed that he isnt listed as an admin hes only a mod...is this a different person...and somebody said that he was on the day before or after or maybe it was the same day i dont remember that this was happening and this dude (as u said) hasnt been on here for nearly 8 months.
