Does anyone have or have used Tippmanns 12" sniper barrel? It looks pretty sweet. I've been wanting a good 12" barrel.

Thats cool. I'm really looking for about a 12" barrel. I have a 14" progressive from Smart Parts. What other 12" barrels do you recommend? Tmab

the sniper barrel sucks.  if you want short barrels, try the lapco bigshot.  i think that comes in 8, 10, and 12 inches.   not sure about the sizes though

How well do you think it is going to be if it has "sniper" in its name?

You're kidding, right?

I've heard bad things about tippmann's sniper barrels. I'd get a J&J ceramic, lapco bigshot, smart parts teardrop, or a CP 12" one piece.

All of those barrels, either get 12" of 14", personally, I'd go with 12"

There only bad if a ball breaks then the paintballs will swerve all over..but there really accurate if you have a hyperstar or venturi bolt to help not chop balls!!

I think he meant his barrel was an all american, not Tippmann sniper barrel.

Best internals on a Tippmann are the stock ones.

The werks barrels are great until a chop. I would stay away from Tippmann barrels besides the Flatline because once you have a chop, your a deadman.

Um, no. You get a lighter bolt with the LPK, which not only decreases the CLANK noise you get with the stock, but also it decreases the kick. I've seen custom made bolts too, which also reduce the kick.

And about a ball breaking in a barrel being bad, that's the case for any barrel. Barrel breaks suck for any gun, but you can rain-x your barrel to help you clean more quickly.

And also, to my knowledge, the venturi bolt and such do nothing to help against chopping. The front bolt can only move as fast as the rear bolt, and will move at exactly the same speed, regardless. If I'm going to chop with my stock bolt, in the same situation, I'd chop with a delrin bolt too.

Yeah, I've got the .689 CP 12" one piece, and I really like it. My groupings are tighter than my friends teardrop (although, could be his velocity/ scratched barrel?)

The CP 12" one piece is quite good.

I got a question! feel free to answer it! But when he says 12" Sniper Barrel! The only thing ppl would get a Sniper is for Accurate shots and the longer the barrel the more accurate right? correct me if i'm wrong but 14 in or 16 in would be a lot better!

WRONG

The name "sniper" is merely a marketting gimmick. There are no real snipers in paintball, but we'll get into that another time.

12" and 14" are optimal for accuracy, people who tell you that their 21" thunderpig barrel is really accurate is dead wrong.
I recall reading that every 2 inches past 14"s the ball begins to wobble and restabalize, and wobble, restabalize, etc.
Also, as you could guess, the longer the barrel, the longer of a distance the ball has to travel before it leaves the barrel. All this extra distance makes you use more air to propell the ball the same distance at the same speed.

In short, stick with a 12", maybe 14" if you play sup air, no longer.

Questions?
