ok, i have a 98 custom with an e-bolt, LPK w/ dye hyper 2 inline reg,and other stuff, which i dont think matters in my problem.

ok, when i got the e-bolt, my gun was spiking like crazy because i had a nitro tank with a high output pressure on a non-regulated gun. sooo, i decided to spend an extra $250 for the LPK and dye hyper 2 inline reg. i figured this would solve all of my problems.

my gun has 3 velocity adjust ments on it. the regulator, the powertube valve, and the e-bolt selenoid velocity adjustor (on the circuit board).

i have tried many different combinations of high and low velocity on all 3 adjustors. i am getting MAJOR shootdown, velocity spikes, and **edited**in barrel brakes.

the brakes are from the spikes in velocity, so dont flame about bad paint or anything cuz i use marballizers.

it would be friggin awesome if someone could help me out with my problem!!!!!!!!

Ok first. Clean and oil everything. Grease you regulators.

Screw out the powertube velocity adjuster until the screw is flush with the inside of the powertube. Its now not in use whatsoever.

Set your dwell to something moderate like 14-17 ms.

Then use your inline reg to adjust the velocity up or down.

If you are still getting bad spikes, then the problem either lies with your e-bolt or your inline reg. Invest in a $15 gauge to measure the inline reg's output.

Dwell is how long the solenoid stays open to push the bolt forward. ITs adjusted by a variable resistor.

Take a look at your manual. Read the picture text for Step 4.

If you lost your manual you can use the PDF version in Tippmann's Support section.

when you say to adjust the dwell to something moderate, like 14-17 ms, is that what the manual tells you to put it at, and what does ms stand for? milliseconds?

The Guy answered your question dead on perfectly. The information he covered is very clear in the manual for the E-Bolt. The step by step process is laid out with pictures in the manual. He even told you where to go on line if you no longer have the manual. What more do you need, to be spoon fed and have someone wipe your chin with a napkin? If you have read the manual you'd at least recognize the word dwell. You could always resort to a dictionary.

As he told you, clean and oil your marker. Run a few drops of oil into the pneumatic ram and a few drops into the power valve through the air line. If that doesn't fix it, send it back to Tippmann with explicit information on how the marker is failing.
