Today, my gun started leaking out of the valve, so I decided to take it apart.  First time doing it, so I got directions from another topic on this forum.  I've got it taken apart just fine, and cleaned it up a bit.  Looks like the person who put the teflon paste in the gas line hook-up got a little crazy, as it was built up on the valve spring.  Anyways, I was certain that before I took apart the valve, there was a small o-ring attached to the end of the plunger where it stuck out of the valve body through the hole where the external valve o-ring goes.  Was I just seeing things, or was there really an o-ring there?  If it was it was tiny, but for the life of me I can't remember it ever coming out.  Any help would be appreciated, as I'd like to get this all put back together tonight and see if this leak is still going on.

Thanks a million!

I figured it out, I didn't lose an o-ring.  Unfortunately however, I did take a chunk out of the front o-ring as I was putting it back together.  But now I know all the internals of the valve well. ;)  Just need that o-ring to fix it.

That small o-ring, is for your safety.  I wondered what it was as well when I bought an o-ring pack.

Would just a small chunk of the o-ring missing cause the valve to have a strong leak through the front of it?  The o-ring is the one that is seated where you take out the internals in the front there.  Otherwise the valve looks ok.
