propels paintballs

A gun is not a weapon... It's a tool. Like a butcher knife, or a harpoon, or...uh, a...an alligator.

ion+co2=bad idea, if your gonna get an ion i would concider HPA. not sure what dammage it does i think it just freezes and dries out the o-rings making them crack. not sure though

oh yeah the anti siphon tube is a tube in your co2 tank that points up so you don't get pure liquid in your gun. good idea as long as you always shoot your gun straight up and down and flat. if you have to run co2on an ion  i would strongly suggest anti siphon in your tank

if it only freezes the o-rings i dont have a problem with that (i can replace them) i was just worried because every1 makes a big deal about using co2 and not nitro

ok what about a 98 custom?? cuz iv thought hard about buying a small HPA tank costng about 120 CAD... but is it worth it?? and i cannot afford a larger tank so would it b better to upgrade to a small HPA or save up for a large one

i would save up and buy a larger tank.  Your tippmann will work fine with c02 until you get a larger tank.  IMO the smaller tanks arent worth it becuase you dont realy gt alot of shots out of them.

i wouldnt mind filling it double the amount of times in order to save 200-300 dollars becuase most of the time id b at a feild where they fill it anyways.. i still have to chek about that tho... but would the larger hpa tank have any other advantages??

if you have free refills then just go with the smaller tank.  The only advantage is more shots.

It can also freeze your board and incase you were wondering your board isent super strong it can crack and break easily and yes a frozen board cracks easier

an anti-siphon co2 tank doesnt actually have enough power to run an ion, they empty fast, and dont have the pressure

Anti-Siphons prevent(to a point) co2 from entering your marker. . .

co2 is part liquid and part gas when used for a paintball propellant. So liguid co2 gets into your gun's internals and does a variety of nasty stuff. Messes with oring and boards. . .

I can't honestly say for sure, because I have absolutely no experience with an Ion. But Smart Parts has a good track record of operating on CO2, the Shocker was pretty CO2 tolerant.

CO2 is stored as a pressurized liquid inside the tank. Ideally, your paintball gun shoots the gaseous CO2, which is evaporating off the pool of liquid. Problem is, often times, this doesn't work this way, and liquid CO2 finds it's way into the gun. Some guns this doesn't matter one bit. With today's hi-end guns, it can create havoc. Liquid CO2 is COLD, it can freeze up the o-rings and render them useless, creating air leaks all over. Some guns can actually suffer valve damage if liquid enters the valve.

An anti-syphon tube works like a straw that is in the tank, that is bent straight up, and tries to suck the evaporated CO2 off the top. The downside is if the gun is tilted the wrong way, and the tip of the straw dips into the liquid, it will act as a syphon tube, sending liquid into the gun.

rofl... If you install a siphon tube, all you will ever get is pure liquid C02.

This is what co2 will do to your ion...go to the Marker Gallery, Page 3, second to last should say ION+CO2=ICE by Sureshot3091.

After lookin at that u might reconsider usin co2 for your ion or gettin an ion if u cant afforf hp. Tippmanns work good with co2 but in the long run it will catch up to ya internals...
