I wanted to know how fast could you shoot through a flatline without breaking an extreme amount of balls. Would you be able to go the full 15bps or would you have to shoot much slower and turn the bps down?

~Thanks for the help~

You can shoot as fast as you want with a faltline. That whole thing about shooting too fast and breaking balls is 100% not true.

Yeah it is untrue, what does matter is the hopper and the paint.

Using crappy paint ruins everything no matter what barrel you are using, it is gonna chop, i use diablo scorch, really cheap cost but i find the paint to be pretty good, if i were goin into a tourney i might use spank! or hellfires or somethin.

The barrel has nothing to do with chopping paint. If you chop you need a faster hopper. Chopping is when the bolt "chops" a paintball in half because it is not fully loaded in the breech.

Breaking a ball on the other hand is when a ball busts in the barrel.

..Since nobody mentioned it, I think it would just be on the "safer" side to mention that you should lower your FPS when trying to obtain higher BPS counts. *or just from using the flatline in general*

I believe 280fps is a great speed for the flatline, that just leaves the bps up to you

Speed shouldn't make a difference either. All it would do is hinder accuracy depending on the balls, because if your shooting too fast they will rise up from too much backspin.

As long as your using decent paint it shouldn't have any problems going at higher speeds. But the flatline works best at like 270-280 anyway depending on the ball you use.

i know that you won't see me but either way the ball busts and u have to clean it out so it doesn't matter a whole bunch what u call it. even though choppped balls are A LOT more annoying to clean than a barrel break.

I have both an Response Trigger and a Flatline on my 98 Custom, and it does not have a barrel break problem.

In fact, it flipping rocks!
