Put it this way. I have both. I get home in a couple of days from the Middle East and I am going to have fun with my egrip. It has it's own R/T and buddy does it rip.
the R/T is nice as well but you have to fine tune it and have the right trigger touch. Takes practice.

I'd go with the e-grip. Allot of fields wont allow the RT especially if you plan on playing tourny.

He did ask which one he should get, he asked which one is the fastest. The answer is most definitly a r/t. It can get up to about 20-22 bps with the right upgrades to it.

Well the r/t is your answer then, especially if it is allowed at your field. It is faster than the e-grip, and you can go from semi to auto quickly without having to use a tiny screwdriver and messing around with electronics.

Pssh, is it worth it? The e-grip is capped at 15 bps, and the cyclone can go a whole lot faster than that. I've heard of 20bps from the 98c with a r/t but not the a-5.

I would go e-grip but r/t is cheaper so, its up to you.

The R/T is WAY faster.

CP E-Grip-17bps(might be 15, capped)

R/T-21bps(highest I've seen with paint)

If you play woods why do you worry about bps? You should be working on your accuracy and wait for the shot. No sence in painting up a tree or bush with a hopper of paint just to make one kill. Plus youll save money on paint.

Since when is saving money on paint a good reason for NOT getting cool stuff?

The RT is definitely capable of shooting faster than the E-Grip, by quite a bit.  But the RT does require tweaking and practice, whereas the E-Grip is plug-n-play.
