22 hours and 44 minutes until Over There premeirs.
This show looks very sweet.
A lot of people are complaining "It's too political" blah blah.
It's a TV show, it's called entertainment!
SO anyone else going to watch the premeir tomorrow?

I just might watch the encore of it since it cuts into Southpark and Carlos Mencia.

Oh yeah, I did read something about that... could be interesting (or just a really boring episode of COPS).
(And speaking of COPS, did I brag sufficiently about my particularly exciting ride-along this weekend?)

How did that go Clark, it can be quite exciting.
I don't know about Over There yet, since it airs on FX, I'd venture to guess it has a right wing leniency. If that's the case count me out, we already have the history channel.

Did it involve a guy with no shirt, no bottom teeth, and a mullet beating his wife?

Is that so? That teaches me to trust a local newspaper. Well I've already decided to give it a shot and watch one episode; however, we'll see how they roll with it.

AK's not a whole lot, but some modifications. However, the M16's have a bit. As more infantry use tricked out M4's because of their compact size. Not a total switch over, but more than then. The M16's have also changed a bit with the carrying handle, stock, etc.

It is definitely something to watch. You'd almost have to rent the first couple of seasons and watch them straight through, but after a while you just get hooked.

[Commencing thread hijack]
Ok, so I'm doing a ride-along in a small town with a good friend of mine. I get my flashlight, I get my vest (mine was smaller than my friend's, despite my complaints).
We cruise about, going about normal small-town cop-work (and by "we" I mean my friend, with me watching): Telling kids not to shoot fireworks in the city, serving TROs, the occasional traffic stop - that kind of thing. I am generally trailing around behind my buddy - the citizens probably thought I was some kind of inspector or something, since I was all lookee and no talkee.
Then the call comes on the radio that a car had been spotted that may had been involved in two armed robberies and assaults (last seen with four gang-banger suspects), including one only hours earlier. So we and the other (singular) cop on duty surround the place, with additional backup from the county Sheriff's office. It's decided that I don't have to go back to the station, but I do stay in the car (after my friend shows me how to operate the radio "just in case something bad happens" - he wouldn't give me the key to get the AR15 out, though...).
In any event, I sit on the curb while the police/deputies make contact with the potential suspects. Talking ensues - then my friend comes charging down the driveway, jumps in the car, and does a screeching U-turn without saying a word. We squeal around the block, and pull up on a walking person meeting the suspect description, who is looking very innocent (practically whisteling with a halo over his head). Apparently witnesses reported one of the suspects leaving the house only minutes before we got there.
Classic COPS moment - my friend pulls the squad car over right in front of the suspect and jumps out of the car. He asks the guy to put his hands on his head. The guy does the "who, me?" and shows no signs of complying (BTW, all four suspects were reported to have guns - of course, in this part of the country, everybody is presumed to have a gun). So my friend draws down on him to encourage compliance, which is still slow to come. In any event, a second officer arrives, and they search the guy (he had a nifty home-made ghetto-knife) and take him back to the suspects' house. This is all about ten feet from me in the passenger seat...
Then follows half an hour of more classic COPS moments - witnesses interviewed, suspects wearing wife-beaters sitting on the curb... great stuff. Very exciting, particularly since nothing bad happened.
Very unusual for this little town. After that we went back to busting hippies for taking naps on the side of the road.
:)

How so? How do you figure that the history channel is right winged? From the shows I seen on that network the programs are about HISTORY. Its really pretty clear cut.
There are shows about the icons of the left, FDR, Kennedy, MLK, and Lenin are a few that come to mind. Last time I checked they were anything but right winged. In fact many of the shows are about the WWII era which was dominated by dominated FDR and the Dems.
