Ok so today I went to play paintball with my new Flatline. So i'm chronoing and I shoot it and it says 160 so i turned it up and it went to 270 and shot a couple more times and my Flatline was spikeing 468!!! I was like uhh ref look at this and 1/5 shots it spiked up to over 400 so the ref was like w/e your playing with frens they won't care. but idk if it was a spike or the backspin tricked the chrono or what. Does anyone have any experience with that?

That ref sounds like an idiot first off, I wouldnt trust him with my safety. Anyway, I'd make sure the chrono wasnt messed up first.

No it wasn't and the ref figured it wasn't really shooting 468 fps because it didn't go any farther. But the chrono works perfectly.

Sounds like your gun was sucking major liquid, or your missing your valve bolts.

it has to be something with the gun internals, air supply or the chrono. the flatline doesn't trick the chrono. i have never had any problems with that. only spiking i have had was due to inconistancy of Co2.

well i know that but my velocity screw is fine and it wasn't spikes because it was a fresh tank and just screwed it on parallel with the ground. filled with valve up it was never pointed down.

After I told my friends my chrono they didn't belive me and they soon found out that sometimes it spikes because i shot one of my friends off the break in the stomach and he had a welt the size of an orange! I'd show you a pic but I didn;t have a camera.

If we're talking 400+ i think an orange is an understatement. We're talking craacking lenses and major breaking of skin. Not safe have your local proshop take a look at it.

It was from wall to wall. But yea i think I will have it looked at tomorrow but its funny to watch the flatline just float paintballs across the field they do all kinds of spirals and stuff in the air and end up going where you aimed. Tippmann took this barrel past science and into an artform.

Goggles must be tested at least at 500 fps.  It's a safety law.

i saw that exact thing happen to a 98 2 weeks ago. one of the valve screws blew out and we didn't notice. it spiked so high and then shot low then 400's again. it was missing 1 valve screw

Lenses weaken over time. Pollution in the air and being hit in the lens one too many times will crack them or cause them to crack.

Sometimes we play at 400 ish, (no chrono,to cheap and stupid to buy one).  You get welts, but we only break skin if we are 5 to 10 feet way.

Your refs must have the mental capacity of a 4 year old.

Okay I went back to play again today and the ref said it was just because I shot so much C02 out the end of my barrel (like a big cloud) that it messed with the chrono.

If it was the stationary one and the end of the barrel was at least 2" past the chrono you shouln't have any problems with c02 messing it up.
