My new Tippmann with egrip keeps on chopping balls. The gun is still new. Today was the first day that I even used it. I have tried three different types on balls with it Carnage, PMI Big balls, and some other type of zap paint. Firing speed didn't seem to affect the balls being chopped. One time it chopped the ball on the first shot after I fully cleaned it.  Could it be a paint problem. Or is there something else wrong with the gun. I would also like to add that at the end of the day I fired two hoppers full of last months paint with no problems. This paint was left in the heat and was really soft and not every ball was round. But that was the best the gun did. The whole day sucked can someone please help.

My gun is totally stock except for the EGrip. The balls where chopped right in half. Someone told me that it might be a bent rod in my feeder. So I checked that out and all looked okay. There was a small ammount of tightness right before the manual advance feed comes all the way out, but the ammount is very slight. And yes the Egrip is for the A5, unless tippmann gave me the wronge one. But yea it came on the gun from tippmann

An electric hopper usually helps out a lot, even if you don't need to fire fast. It could also be the ball detent is a little weak and it is letting two balls through and the second is getting chopped. I can't see that happening though because your gun is new.

high velocity won't chop balls. It will break them in the barrel. His A-5 is getting half feeds and chops.

Way to read the post.

Okay I called tippmann they told me to send the gun in. Hopefully I can get it back friday, but I doubt it. I can deal with a gun not being acurate or being slow. But I draw the line at chopping balls. That is my pet peive. Does anyone else out there have this problem with their tippmann and the egrip? Or is everyone satisfied with their guns?

I am completely satisfied with my 98c r/t. I have used it without an electric hopper and it doesn't chop, it will just dryfire a few times between every shot. I'm getting a revvy to fix that problem.

Hello?  The A-5 uses a cyclone feed.  Check for a rigid part on the face of the bolt and follow the track of your cyclone and see why the balls arent getting centered correctly.  Also check the hose form the gun to the cyclone if its severed then not enough gas will get to the cyclone and it will only partially turn.

Do you have the need for speed?

Sorry! I make mistakes too and I just forgot that he had an A-5.
