i need to find a paintball gun for a friend that is under $250. His birthday is in 1 week and i got my friends to pool some money together so we could buy him a new one. He likes to play woods ball and stock class speedball. His model 98 just broke and he dosent have money for a new one. Suggestions please. ------------- Getting bunkered is like having sex in prision; it will happen weather you like it or not. |

A-5 $220 Shipping from an online store like Paintballgear.com will be free for a big order like that. Give the extra $30 to him to put towards a barrel. I assume he already has a mask and co2. EDIT: Nice sig. |

The A-5 will serve him well in a woodsball scenario. If he wants more
speed than that then get a high end kingman spyder. | You also have to buy a tank which is another $100 or more. I don't think you can find a $2 HPA tank. I really don't know much about ions because I have no personal experience with them, but are they as rugged as Tippys, durrable, and pretty much plain tough? If you dropped it in the water would it still work? If you took a spill and smashed it on a rock would it still function? I don't know, you tell me.... |

I don't ever plan to or ever have dropped my gun in the water. The Ion will be an excellent woodsball gun. C02 will work with the Ion and the A5 also requires a tank. Another question. Is an E-Grip A5 a good woodsball gun? |

No one plans to drop their gun in the water. CO2 work with an ion? That is a joke.
There is an ion on co2 for you. Co2 does for an ion what drugs do for your brain. Not too pretty, is it? To answer your question, yes, the A-5 e-grip is an excellent woodsball gun. |

Actually the drugs qont freeze your brain but they may bust a few o-rings. whoever ran that Ion on c02 without an anti-siphon or a remote is brilliant. I can get the same result with a Tippmann. Your point is? The proper way would be a vert. mounted tank,Palmer,coiled remote. I can blaze 24 bps thru an electro on c02 all day long. There's at least a couple of guys here that have seen me do it. The Ion would be no different. |

I've seen Angels, Shockers, Timmies, and other high end markers being used in the woods, saw an agel with a camo anno... eBay or any forum that allows selling usually has someone with a cheap Ion... -------------

So somehow the Ion isn't as durable as other guns? I'm not falling for the myth that Tippmann's aluminum and plastic is more durable than other companies. I've found that my current gun is more durable and reliable than my 98. Granted the ION is a newer gun and has to be time proven but tourney players I know have dropped their Shockers and Timmies and aren't looking back. |

i think that you are one heck of a friend- especially if ya get the a5 for him its a great step up from a 98(smoother/faster/fieldstrip./ i have fired 4000 rds thru mine and no breaks chops-now i use a technique i call running the trigger-it gets me some serious bps( how much idon't know-how do people know?) i have modded to a r/t and double trig-comp speed ball for me no! but in the hands of the right person i think you could use it there. woodsball-if he's against 98's he'll be lovin that gift! sp smooth so.....easy! |

if you willing to kick it up 50 bucks you can buy a wgp pump sniper and im pretty sure u can take the pump off and throw a pneumatic and then u have a semi auto! but a stock class gun for 250 or less, i'd go pgp. | The gun I reccomended, it's predasessor is almost turnament grade. With the one I reccomended, your friend could stick on a revvey w/xboard, a new hopper, and be good to go in a turnament. |

get an a5 and with the spare $ get a double trigger and decide about a r-trigger or lapco bigshot barrell ive got one and they are my favourite barrell's hence why i sold my flatline and kept my bigshot they have good accuracy,strength,length and are reccomended by a hell of a lot of people ------------- Tippmann A5 Double trigger Bigshot Nvader goggle system Class 3 Laser sight I SOLD THE REST |
