Maybe it's over oil, maybe it's to see who can p*$$ higher on the fire hydrant, never the less all I ask is that you keep them in your prayers. Unless you have served maybe you do not understand this. I have lost some good friends with this one....

The DMZ is mostly mines... got a buddy in the DMZ pulling guard duty.

Clinton said we would be out of Kosovo in a year.. we're still there 11 years later. Where's the anger for that? Where's the calling for impeachement for that?

And, just like that, my sympathy for you dropped to zero.  You really should keep politics out of your own "non-political" thread.

And more importantly, enjoy your strike.  Leave the sexual slurs at home.

yikes rambino, thats a harsh strike....but not for me to decide on the strikes you give other people.  Anyways i hope that all guns arent banned cause that'd be really bad.  If i was running the country i'd make sure there was a chicken in every pot, and a cap in every A$$.  Just a little joke from TV.  Nah but i feel that a mental doctors records should be checked before selling guns, as well as criminal records.  If all guns are banned it'll be just like prohibition.  First it'll tone down a bit, then people will make their own and come back.  Actually maybe more people will be cops just to have guns.  Many lives have been saved (and ended) by guns.  It's just a futile battle trying to take them away.

How about we get out when they can do what we are doing.  So that they can take care of themselves and not let another dictator take over.

Yeah... Stop, we are in a thousand countries you never hear about. Being in a country doesnt matter, you are making it into something because of your political leanings. You never hear anything about all the other countries we are still in because of the Clinton administration, or any other administration for that matter. Its just a way to bash bush and its boring.

God bless the soldiers over there, I know several. However they say that the Iraqi national gaurd is full of really brave people who want their country to be free. Things take time, training a whole army will take a while, can't be done overnight. Besides, when we left Afghanistahn in shambles many years ago a certain man decided to go against us. Bin Laden. The Iraqi people appreciate our help, leaving now would make them really sore at us. We don't want that, and our soldiers there know that. Just like to wish them the best of luck!

We have acomplished a lot. A country is in the process of gaining its freedom. Other countries are seeing this. Its like the red scare but with democracy, the proletariat are taking back their country.

its about dang time for that to happen. The working class is all that supports that country.  It's a traditional economy so without them their country would fall to pieces.  Iraq and the rest of the countries won't be back on their feet until they have a suitable army and can support its own economy.

everyone here sounds young. This thread was started with the intention of all to realize that freedom is not free and that it has been bought and paid for with american blood and american lives. I apoligize if I offerded anyone with my uncalled for remark. Kerry is what he is, my opinions of him will not change, but this is not the time or place for that comment. . This is about 20 young marines who are most likely a few year older than you guys, They had not even begun to live and they were killed trying to help others, and fighting for what they believe. Some day if our country is as of that in Iraq, I hope some other country will help my family out.

Ced, what do you think will happen if we just up and leave while Iraq is torn to pieces?  If you look at what happened in Afghanistahn, the outcome would probably be the guy with the biggest guns ruling the country.  Yet, if we stay and finish what we started, we could establish a democratic country with a military and economy to support itself.

Your ignorance amazes me. If we go in, trash and bomb a country and then just leave... We would make more enemies. We are fixing what we trashed and training troups. Once they have a force capable of defending themselves and whatever else they need, we will begin pulling out, but we will leave a small contingent in country, guaranteed.

There was no reasoning with him. He had been playing shell games with UN inspecters for 12 years. He was telling neiboring city states that he had nukes, spreading about propaganda. He brought it on himself.

I dont care he was running around telling his neighboors that he had them and he would use them. He had used them in the past.

Basicaly, if i shot your mother, then told you im going to shoot you. You would beleive me. Same thing. He had a prior history of using WMDs and he was telling other countries in the middle east that he had them. We invaded and didnt find anything. Boo hoo get over it.

The right to invade and correct an unruly leader was unofficially given to the US, when they became the world's leader, and super power.

Like it or not, America is now "World Police" and if the US sat on their hands, watchign the world pass by, we'd be in a sorrier state than today.

I, agree that I would like to see a memorial thread, or otherwise, made without being lambasted with 5 year old arguments that everyone has heard. If you don't like it, do somethign about it, don't whine that it's their own fault for being over there, and if you don't want to do something about it, shut up.

--------------------------------------------------------

The Marine's Prayer
Almighty Father , whose command is over all and whose love never fails, make me aware of Thy presence and obedient to Thy will.   Keep me true to my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and helping me to live so that I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones and Thee without shame or fear.   Protect my family. Give me the will to do the work of a Marine and to accept my share of responsibilities with vigor and enthusiasm.   Grant me the courage to be proficient in my daily performance.   Keep me loyal and faithful to my superiors and to the duties my country and the Marine Corps have entrusted to me.   Make me considerate of those committed to my leadership.   Help me to wear my uniform with dignity, and let it remind me daily of the traditions which I must uphold.

If I am inclined to doubt, steady my faith; if I am tempted, make me strong to resist; if I should miss the mark, give me courage to try again.

Guide me with the light of truth and grant me wisdom by which I may understand the answer to my prayer.
AMEN.

Yet if they did nothing, I'm sure the generations who protest the US in other countires, would be swapped with a generation who is appalled that while the world falls to shambles, America stands by and does nothing.

Cedric, you must be the most ignorant person on the forum at times, to still stand by your convictions even though history and other people have proven you wrong on this topic time and time again.

He had them, he never showed that he got rid of them, he told us he would use them on us when we were staging in Kuwait, he didn't allow the weapons inspectors to look around.

She's also now seen as a bit of traitor in Canada. She recently became a US citizen and often refers to herself as American.

Personally I don't care, but some classmates in history where we discussed it, did.

Talk about a run-on. You say that a lot, "ignorant", don't you? You must be insecure and have to tell people they are "ignorant" all the time. It's ok. I know how much of a sad little boy you are. It's ok.

Linus, you must be the most ignorant bastard on the forum to keep comming back after it has been proven though history and other people that no one likes you.  You have been proven to be hated time and time again on this topic.

Leave.

EDIT: And yes, I went there.

I choked on my gatorade.

Has anyone else ever choked on something liquid?  Or am I the only person in the history of man kind that has choked on something that wasn't solid?

Just at work today, as a matter of fact. Root beer packs a punch.

What kind of rootbeer?

I prefer Barq's.  Is that how you spell it?  Barq?

Mug, I think. I prefer it over Barq's, but it can have a bitter aftertaste at times.

I think both are good, but barq has a nice bite to it.  (I totally just used Barq's little "Line" thing, but its true.)

You know whats good rootbeer.  Henrey Wienheard.  That is some damned good stuff right here.  Except it foams too much.

Its all about Birch Beer, i like it a lot better than Root

I've tried my fair share of birch beer; while good for the occasional way to spice things up, it can never match the greatness of root beer.

I also recommend that you avoid ginger beer like the plague.
