I think this would be a great idea for woodsball. Imagine popping out of the water like a SEAL and shooting people. It wouldn't have to shoot under water just go under water and then fire. Maybe have a switch to close a hatch that you open again to fire. cool huh?

You could it you made a gasket to fit between the reciever halfs.

Than got yourself a non ported barrel, then made a custom flap.

But Ive never played at a field where there was a body of water.

I just sit in the water with my gun barely above it.Typically when its dark out or getting close to it.  Then people can't see you that well

I suppose it wouldn't be that difficult to do. Try it and tell us if it works.

the hopper is all that needs to be waterproofed.

Water does nothing to a 98. I've seen them pop out of the water before and shoot.

Its the paint that you need to be careful of.

This only works if your not runing a e-grip, e-bolt, or e-hooper of some
sort had a freind fall in the water and his e-grip was done for had to buy
a new one.

Don't worry about the marker being sealed, if it is a mechanical, not electric. What does need to be sealed is the hopper. It needs to be air tight to hold a bubble to keep the paint dry while under water. You can not have a paintball in the chamber or in position in the barrel...it will suck up water like a sponge in just a few minutes and get too big and sticky to come out of the barrel. First couple of balls might be non-paint practise balls. THat will keep the stack of paintballs up in the water tight hopper. You'll have to be careful to keep the hopper upright so the bubble of air doesn't dribble out of the heck allowing water to get inside.

Now the next problem is the wet barrel. First several shots, unless you have a barrel that easily self cleans, will be wild...so you will need to really lay down the paint at first pop up. Water in it will make the barrel shoot like there is a broken ball for a number of shots.

You could also carry a spare HPA cylinder from which you can sip a little air while under warer (make sure it is air, not nitrogen).

Someone did that at hells survivors. Popped out of the water with his 98 and opened fire. Nothing came out since his paintballs absorbed the water and swelled up.

From experience, my 98c works when completly submerged in water. I was at a 24hr senerio game and I fell into a creek. I didn't have anything electronic on my marker, though. My barrel does have port holes in it. somehow, water never managed to get into my hopper. My marker shot just fine. I might have just gotten lucky, though.

Automags are water proof. Easiest way to give them a great cleaning is too put them in the dish washer. (Make sure theres an air source on there)

There's a video somewhere on Automags.org that has RogueFactor's RTP being put in a bucket of water then firing.

It was Zak Vetter's automag stress test.

Wouldnt it be kinda hard to see the person that you plan on shooting from underwater? or would you not have to hold your breath for a long time? or maybe a ghillied snorkel would work

If I remember right the tactical cocker could be submerged and then fired but i dont Know if that was just for the photo or if it could be done.
