When I take the gun apart to install my rt kit i cant get the gas hose out of the valve can some one help me ------------- Peace through superior firepower! |

it has locktite on it. You will probably renches or a vice.
What you have to do is heat up that joint so that the locktite comes
loose. I used a small pen torch to do it, just be carful not to
destory the powertube, eventough you will be replacing it in case you
need it in the future. there are a few joints that will require
breaking and reapplying locktite to ensure it is sealed.

| If you can't get the loctite of the powertube, I don't know if you should be installing the r/t yourself. It is harder to install than other upgrades and if you aren't careful, you might break your gun. I just took mine to a proshop and they installed it for free because I bought it there. |

i got it just fine i just couldnt get the loctite off after that i put my gun back together rt and all without manual and that was the first time ive taken it apart ------------- Peace through superior firepower! |

All you need is a bench vise and a wrench. You just need leverage.

yea, that works too, but ur probably much more likely to accidentally
break something if you just try to twist it apart. Apply heat to
it for a little while and it should come right off.

don't know why this is so hard and HEAT??? like rossy said if you can't remove a hose mabey you shouldn't be trying this, you may do more damage than good. just LIGHTLY put the powertube in a bench vise with the SS line up put a 7/16" wrench on the hex part of the hose and turn counter clockwise. reverse instructions for reinstalling only use teflon tape rather than loctite ------------- http://img76.imageshack.us/my.php?image=stickemup6of.jpg">

| YES HEAT. Read the directions on a bottle of Loctite. IT specifically syas that heat must be used to remove it. Use a lighter, just be careful to not damage the hose or powertube itself. |

i know heat is helpful for removing red loctite, my concern was the plastic powertube just milimeters away from the heatsource. the threads on the valve aren't very thick and i have never found a situation where i had to heat thoes particular fittings to get them apart ------------- http://img76.imageshack.us/my.php?image=stickemup6of.jpg">

Heh. I didn't use any heat. Just held the thicker part of the powertube in my hand and went at it with a wrench. ------------- Is God real? You'll find out when you die.

Tha'ts the reason that I said to be careful. I didn't use anything but a wrench to take mine apart. Just held it in my hand and used a wrench on the hose. But some might be tighter, or better sealed than others. Those might require the CAREFUL use of heat, or the careful use of a vise. Your first post made it sound like using heat was something incredibly stupid, that you were amazed that anyone would even suggest such a thing. |
