Ok, so in this country we discourage raceinm right? But its everywhere! And its in the groops that cry raceist the most! Why is it their is a tv network for black music artist only... If I went and made one for whites only, I'd have a massive law suite on my hands, protests in my front yard, and racail slurs thrown at me! What the hell?The one that really gets me though. A black person can call anoth black person (forgive me for the use of this word) a **edited**er, but if a white guy does it, its a racist remark and he gets his butt kicked. Can someone explain this to me? Its just as degradeing, has the same meaning, doesn't matter if its a black guy or a white guy saying it. Yes, it bugs me quite alot actually. It's a big issue here too with first nations issues. They ask for equality, but then ask for further rights, resulting in even more diversity. Rather than equality, they are pursuing superiority.
I say, if they want equality, everyone must follow the same laws, same bylaws, same social conduct. No special rules, nothing. Everyone exactly the same. Isn't that what equality is? |

It's called the rest of the channels. Black people can call eachother that because they're both black. I was flipping through channels when I came across a buch of black people talking about the "Big N word". One guy sugested that only blacks could say it because they were enslaved for years, and that they deserve a word that was only thiers. It's stupid. I always love to see a black guy that, even though most of his friends are black, he stands up and says something when crap like that happens. In the situation I am talking about, a white guy said that Barry Bonds was on 'roids (this was before we KNEW he was on them). Anyway, the black guys said that he was just being racist, but the one I was talking about stood up and told them that it was obvious that he was doin it and that they were just being racist against the white guy. Texas has it worse. I live Washington, spend a lot of time in seattle, but a good friend of mine lives in Texas... actually, he's no longer a friend at all, after his visit last summer I want nothing to do with him. Any one live in Arlington or Marysville? I hear trouble their with racism is going up. I guess new ethnic groop are coming in and theirs trouble all over the bord. My Dad was offered the position of director of security for Marysville about 4 years ago. Turned it down for that reason. He stayed in touch with the guy who got the job until he quit after the teacher strikes (During the strikes, he had to escort the PR Rep from Lynnwood to Marysville cuz of death threats. i dont have a problem with "black" people however i do have a problem with "getto" people....
the white man is the most discrimanated person in the US today. even at work. these big companys need to make up a certin number of "points" and where a white man would be "worth one point" a black woman would be worth 3 or 4 points. sad thing is more white people and asians are getting degrees and getting the well paying jobs. the other races dont put the effort into bettering them selves and end up at the bottom of the poll with the high school kids. another part is that sometimes people come from other countrys and get a job paying 8-12$ an hour which is alot more than what they could get in their country and they settel for that. ------------- saving the world, one warship at a time. |

When they call each other that it doesn't mean much of anything becuase they too are a N. It doesn't make it right, but when a white guy calls someone a N then it means more, it's degrading. As for black tv who cares? It's two or three at the most channels go to another channel. Besides it's not like on those channels they are just slamming white people. |

Example: White people are so scared that a black person will feel something is racist, they walk on eggshells to see to it nothing like that can happen. A black person knows this (in a subconsios way, they know it) and they use it to their advantage. That is their power. This gains them more rights, such as the ablility to have black only TV channels, commities, and other such things. And if someone makes an all whit committie, the all black says its discrimination to not let someone in based on race, and sues, wins because the judge and jury don't want to be labled by the all black committie as racists, and they walk off with a hefty sum of money. ------------- You can go far with a smile. Yes, what purpose does it serve? I've read many many stories about people of Asian and Caucasian decent that have been rejected for schools because of their race. I believe race shouldn't even be part of the applications. That seems like the best answer. |

I'm with whoever said that race should have no part in acceptance to college. I'm all for the scholarships that black people get for being black, because many african americans can't afford the education THEY desirve. I am for a change in Affirmitive Action. It should go by average income, not race. If a poor kid has a 3.8, and a rich kid has a 4.1, the colleges should have to accept the poorer kid, and have a quota to meet for underprivilaged children. How? The NAACP wants equality, we give it to them. Now they want more and idiots give them more. Race just shouldn't be a part of a college application. Affirmitive Action is just stupid, and only makes race a bigger issue. An example of some African Americans playing the race card disgustingly happened recently at my brother's school (we go to schoool in different towns). A black woman wanted to be principal of a high school, but she was obviously unqualified. She got turned down, and her daughter (a lawyer) suied the school board. Maybe because on average, they do poorer in school. I believe that race should have absoulty no part in college and it shouldn't matter if there aren't many blacks in a college. Why would it matter if they don't have an 'ample' number of black students?
And you are attacking people that are more well off than you. Yes, they grew up more fortunate but they didn't choose to. Anybody can do well in school. Grades are grades and money is money. They shouldn't affect where you go to school. EXACTLY! I know tons of poor people who do well in school, but they can get tons of scholarships to get into a university. Just recently at my high school a guy graduated with a 32 on his ACT. "Honors" =/= AP. AP is Advanced Placement, It is course taken ahead of when you were supposed to. Honors is just the same class as everybody else, just the higher in the class in it. Honors usually only adds on about 0.05 or 0.025 onto your GPA, if anything at all. ------------- "Sing in me O Muse... "

Your teacher doesn't add the gpa bonus. The computers figure it out
when your grades arre put onto your transcript. The only bonus you will
ever see is on your transcript gpa.

There was probably a miscommunication somewhere, but by the time I noticed that my grades didn't add up correctly, it was the end of school. Our system works something like A = 4.00, B = 3.00, C = 2.00, D = 1.00
F = 0.00 and for AP its A = 5.00, B = 4.00, C = 3.00, D = 2.00, F =
1.00 or 0.00 (not sure which one). Yeah, 4 of my classes are honors so they are weighted at 1.25. And I'll be a sophomore next year and I will be able to take AP European History, and possibly get an extrememly high GPA. |

I happen to like CMT and my asian girlfriend does too. So stick that in your pipe and smoke it. And whoever started this thread had the gumption to say something that i've wanted to say for a long time. Now dont go yelling at me, i dont use the n word and i dont care about BET but i dont enjoy being mocked at every turn my Chris freaking Rock. It really bothers me cause his comedy is quite rascist. Yeah im sure people are gonna say then just dont watch it. But it's hard not to watch this man knock on the entire caucasian race. I dunno i just think that black and white people and all other races need to come together and say forget the past. Cause i like hanging out with my black friend but when im around his family i feel nervous even though i grew up in the south like he did. I dunno, i just think people should just not bring up the subject of race...unless you are the same race...then its okay. Conclusion- i guess the lesson is, it doesnt matter what race you are, as long as we're all the same religion.

Theres a channel for whites.
Its called Cable TV The public access channel is more geared towards blacks. |
