Hello Flatline owners.  Since you've had your Flatline for a while, do you still have any use for any other barrel?  Is the Flatline the say all end all barrel?  Or do you still keep _____ barrel around and never/somtimes/always use it instead?

Why?

I rarely use my flatline b/c i am more conserned about fire power not distance. I have a evil pipe kit. if you deside to ditch the flatline, go for a barrel kit that has inserts so you then will rarely break paint. Empire, Freek, A-3, Ronnin, and evil all are good kits.

I have a Freak kit, which hardly gets any use (on the A-5, anyway) since I got the Flatline.

When I use my A5 (almost always) I usually use the flatline so that I have the extra range when needed. If I'm playing a tournament or on small fields I usually put my bigshot on instead though. It's slightly more accurate, it's less visible from the front, can be cleaned easily during a game, and it isn't very picky on paint. In a woodsball game on a big field or a scenario there's no doubt that I'd choose the flatline though, the extra range is incredibly useful there.

No barrel but a Flatline has been on mt 98/RT and A-5 since I got them.

The E-Bolt came with a Boomstick, but soon as I get an Ion, it will become my woods gun and get the Flatty treatment.

I hate my flatline, sold it and bought a Lapco bigshot.
Cant go wrong with the bigshot

I think the a-5 flatline is decent though, especially because its very compact.

I love my Flatline except for the added profile and weight.  Very accurate and good quality.  I sometimes use the stock barrel though in close range or airball tourneys where I just sling free paint at people.  Yes the gun in my sig can sling paint, 13bps to be exact.  That is okay in tourneys.

Did you talk to tippmann about it? They probably would fix it for free if all you did was shoot paint through it (don't bother if you did something stupid like shooting marbles). Send them an e-mail or call them and see what they say.

I'm the opposite, I never use my flatty on my 98, and use it exclusively on my A5, I find the A5 flatty to be a superior product, fits better, easy to align/change, shorter and not as fugly as the 98.

A flatline is the kind of barrel that either you love or hate, black and white, light side and dark side, there's no in-between.

I had a Flatline for a bit, and one day I tried my friend's gun with a Twister on it, and decided that the Flatline's extra distance (seriously, only about 20 ft) wasn't worth twice as much money, so the kid I bought it from took it back, thank god, and I bought my Twister.

I like my flatline on my m98c r/t. Im planin on getting an A5 and usiing a different barrel (14-16in JJ probably) and the lapco mg shroud. turn it into a browning .30 cal.

I just tried out a flatline that a got for free from a friend.  Im not sure what i think.  The added distance is nice.  The accuracy at 150ft was very poor.  I was shooting Diablo Heat and PMI/RPS Superswirl.  I did have many breaks.  I was maybe able to his the target ~3/10x.  Even making minor adjustments did not seem to make a difference.  balls would curve left, then right, then right again, then left, then up, then right, then down, etc.  So I could not really determine how to make the adjustment to the bbl.  I also have a 14in. J&J Ceramic barrel which I also found to be about equally as inaccurate, but at a shorter range.  I think the best barrel as far as accuracy goes that I have would probably be the stock barrel or the 32 degrees precision bare,l

Years ago I had a Flatline on my 98... the balls went everywhere but on target even with good boresize paint match. I thought about getting one for my A-5 because I hear it is better, but I don't have much need for the extra distance and expensive small bore paint. I am happy with a good quality conventional barrel that groups tight until the end of it's range. I don't like being in the rear of the game either.

I have a Flatline on my 98. I loooooove it. I try to use that more often, but it depends how it does with the paint Im using. The range is amazing, and the accuracy usualy great.

I loved my flatline, i found it to shoot through breaks, shoot well-enough to win at the 125-150 mark if you know how to shoot. But I had to sell it to use my new shroud from Opsgear. Now im looking at a ceramic 20", bigshot 14", or a werks 16".
