Subject: Pukefest

I keep puking,
everywhere, five times on my way to the locker room after practice,
twice while running, one through the facemask and the other in-between
sprints, any ideas on how to not puke, and still practice hard? Or am I
stuck until I get used to the heat and conditioning?

Bodies are blunt like that though. I'd say scale back what you're doing until you're more used to the heat. That, and stay so hydrated you risk water poisoning. Heat stoke can be fatal, as I'm sure you know, and people seem to be pushing themselves, literally to death, in recent years.

The thing that worried me
most, is all I've had today is toothpaste and water, yet it was a
yellow-ish color, then again, maybe just stomach acids...
I try to avoid thinking of heat-stroke because it scares me like some of my other fears...

if you barfed yellow, it's your bile. Which is, yes, your stomach acid. If you get heat stroke once, it makes you more seceptible(sp?) to it.

were looking for, I believe, I never heard that about heat stroke, I
guess it's true though, because it's not like any bacterial illness
where you'll build up an immunity...

bring me to a complete stop, picture it like this, I take a slam on my

Actually, I thought of
you when I was at the doctor, ruined the whole hot nurse thing, but
asked the doctor for an STD test and about the urinary tract infection,
I'm clean, not the people I USED to date, but I am(sooo lucky). The
first two were in seperate times, we run before we do drills and after,
so one before one after, then on the way to the locker room five times,
I'm downing Powerade right now, and since your advice has helped once,
I'll call the doctor. Also, the kid who collapsed went
to Mizzou.

Water is best. If you're throwing up, you need to take a break. Also,
if you are having such intense practice, you need to eat healthy during
the day, and down massive amounts of water before you have a chance to
be thirsty. Heat stroke can be lethal.

Stomach acid is not the same thing as Bile.

you need to drink a bunch of water before you go to bed and then like a few full size glasses before practice. Then the powerade. I prefer gatorade though. Underarmour helps to cool people off too.

stay hydrated before your practice.that means drink plenty of water the day before activity.your pee should be clear in the morning.also eat salty food or drink gatorade after practice.this will replace some of the sodium you lost.

Are you doing "Two-a-Day" practices? That's what I'm doing now. My advice is to drink some Gatorade before practice and lots of water after. Another thing you need to do is eat something like fruits before practice and don't drink anything with carbonation. Another thing that may help is to remember that if your unrine is a yellow color, you need to be drinking more water.

Some chick around here almost died cause of that. She'd drink alot of water but she lost so much salt from sweating.

Um, are you eating before practice? That will do it. Dont drink too much water. Stay hydrated, but if your running around with a belly full of water, you WILL throw up, dont chug water, you WILL throw up. Stay hyrdated, but dont gulp the water.

Heat
stroke isnt what you need to be worrying about here, trust me, you
would know, more then likely it is (as mentioned before) dehydration or
heat exahustion. The way to tell between the too is with heat
exahustion you are sweating profusely and vommiting is sometimes
a symptom. With heat stroke you will not sweat at all because
your body's cooling systems have shut down from being over
worked. You look a little bit like you have been boiled alive too.

Bingo, though they are related. Bile forms in the liver and
breaks down fats. The yellow sounds like it could be bile however.

Yellow vomit. I know this vomit, ive had some run ins with it before. Dont gulp water, keep hydrated but dont gulp, throwing up during conditioning is basicaly a given. But not as much as you are. Just... DO NOT EAT RIGHT BEFORE PRACTICE.

When I use to play football I carried around a gallon of water with me. If you drink all of it before your pratice you will be very hydrated. My mom's friend is a nutrienst (sp) and she said something like you will have 20%-%25 better performance if your well hydrated.

Acctually the best technuique is to do that the day before the event or
training. Everyone in cross country over here takes in around a
gallon of water the day before the event and then hydrates again the
morning of the event.

Another thing that may help with your performance is to take a multi-vitamin. If you aren't eating right, you are throwing up, and you are persperating heavily, you are running low on essential vitamins and that sort of thing. I would talk to a nutritionist and maybe a sports doctor.

Bile isn't stomach acid. Different things produced in different organs.
Anyway, go check with a doctor. It could be you getting used to the heat, and need to drink WAY more...or, something could be wrong with you. Cant hurt to check it out.
Anyway, as its been said, but can be stressed enough, KEEP DRINKING WATER.
