yeah i'm pretty sure that it is modeled after a .50 cal sniper rifle...the gun shop in my neighborhood has them and i saw them in person so i can say that it is made after one.

oh yeah about the mag....that size mag only holds 4 .50 cal. armor piercing bullets!

Its actually Modelled after the Barret M82A1 Anti-matter rifle AKA "Lifty Fifty" the only problem with the model is the barrel length but other wise it is nice and it would have been better to make it off a flatline barrel. And God help anyone who carries that thing in a gun store the thing is designed to remove M1A1 Abrams off the battle field

its actually called the light fifty not lifty , and BTW so u know it was named the Anti-matrter rifle because it could easily shoot through an 18" Thick concrete wall from 2 miles away, i think the new model is better i think

.50's are my friend. i am thinking of turning my tippmann 98 into one that looks about identical to the older model. i think the gun is beautiful, the barrel size does not concern me, and the magazine makes it look even more authentic. what can i say, im a scenario player, and milsim is my thing. because of that, some might be disappointed to hear i will not be making the "ultimate tippy" but i give yall permision to make it yourselves (since it is my design)

Even if the shot could shoot through a foot and a half inch concrete from 2 miles away, you still can't shoot from 2 miles accuarately. My cousin, whom is a sniper in the Army right now, says the Barrett is accurate enough to hit a tank from about a mile. Not much more than that.

I agree. I know someone that is actually placing an order for one.

That's fine. I'll waste his $850 30-round gun with my $300 200-round setup.

The Mag is the proper size- just that the rest of the marker is MUCH too small to be in proportion.

If you think it'll do anything to an Abrams tank, you're on drugs. It's just a .50 BMG round- perfect for unarmoured vehicles, or infantry, but it won't do anything to a tank unless you're shooting for its targetting or optics. You can damage some of the equipment on the tank, but there's no chance of stopping one with one.

The longest recorded combat sniper kill was ~2470 meters, by a Canadian sniper in Afghanistan using a Macmillan .50 rifle firing the same round as the M82 Barrett.

Honestly, I think this 'Raider' M82 is visually hideous- too angular and blocky, far too many rails, and it really bears very little resemblance to the real M82 aside from the magazine and muzzle break. The other 'raider' accessories they carry are cool though- not modelled after actual firearms, but just generally 'military' in look. Kind of crosses some elements of the G36 with the M4, and some other stuff thrown in. They look pretty cool. Opsgear might finally be getting its **edited** together.

For all the people who say these guns look heavy. Are you guys 12, worried about a gun being heavy? I mean the gun probly only weighs 7 pounds, if that. You guys must have skinny girl arms or limp wrists. Making comments like it looks heavy only brings it upon yourself.

i know someone who played speedball (recball) with a huge gun like that. he got 4 people out in the fist few minutes and utimatly got shot in the gun. it was pretty funny though, getting guys with shockers and stuff out with a tippmann.

OPS is probably under more pressure than they are used to, Spec Ops is putting out alot of good milsim guns.

you try making a run with it.....  you'd prolly make it about 10 feet and get blasted.  even if it wern't heavy, it'd be in the way.  i like woodsball, but mil-sim seems kinda....  weird.... people putting more "show" than "go" into their gun.  mil-sim body kits are like putting makeup and mascare on your gun.  I belive markers should look good, but i also belive in putting only usefull things on it.  alot of people won't agree, but that's okay.  it's just confusing to me when people call themselves "hardcore woodsballers" and you see their marker and it has a mag, flashlight, and milsim-style kits on it.  you ask them why you have all that stuff on it, and they say "to intimidate the newbs"......i'd think a "hardcore woodsballer" would have something better to do with $750 than to intimidate newbs.....  idk..... i'm just damn confused......

Agree with you, I play milsim but dont have the useless stuff like mags, flashlights. I have a 98 with stock m16 handle with reddot mounted on it. That is the only thing milsim about it. I have use for all those things. As for the rest of the guys that go "hardcore" with there guns....well....it is like every sport. They are just following the crowd. I think it first origianted with military training. They want closest thing to the real thing as possible. Can't really train with the guns that are on the market unless you go Armotech. And we all know how those shoot.
