For some reason I was checking out the Brass Eagle site. I then realized how many companies they have under there belt. Everyone I know hates Brass Eagle! When did they become so big? And why do they call themselves the leader in paintball products? -------------

But K2 probably has a very good claim to that status - Brass Eagle, JT, Viewloader, WGP - that's a lot of paintball stuff. Many other companies may be "leaders" in a niche - K2 is doing a pretty good job blanketing the market. Who here doesn't have ANY K2 product? I own something Brass Eagle, something JT, something Viewloader, AND something WGP... |

I don't have too much of a problem with the BE conglomerate (yet). Would I have preferred if VL and JTUSA stayed independant? Absolutely. I feel BE tossed in their big business mentality of profits-first... and cheapened the quality of the merchandise (and I also noticed more was made overseas as opposed to in the USA). K2, as an investor, undoubtedly will follow suit. Brass Eagle started off as a great company, making great products. Their Nightmare pump gun was awesome! And back in the day, the Rainmaker wasn't all that bad. These days, BE guns are basically marketed towards those just starting and shopping at __Mart. All six of my VL Revies are pre-BE, for which I am grateful as the post-BE shells are horrid. The cheapo VL Proflex squeegies are my favorite squeegies ever! Much better than any other [more expensive] squeegie I've tried. I have a JT jersey that I never wear... but only because I'm not a Jersey-wearing guy, not because I am protesting BE. I have a couple JT tshirts I wear now and again, and a pair of JT bulldenim cargo pants I've worn once a week for the past several years (my favorite pants... my wife's most hated pants). Have a couple JT hats too... but don't wear them often. I have about 6 JT masks currently, a mix of XFires, Spectras and Flex-7s. I had more earlier. All have served me well, along with my older Scott masks... although I have been toying with the idea of getting something newer... but probably won't considering I have enough spare thermal lenses for my existing masks to last me my lifetime. I have the JT Speedpod system as well. Two collars and 10 pods. One collar and 4 pods are currently on my for-sale list... but I was relatively happy with this system when I used it. I use 40rd Brass Eagle loaders on my pumps, along with 4oz Brass Eagle CO2 tanks. I have a Daisy (pre-BE) Eagle68 semi-pistol, which is more of a collectors item to me than an actual usable gun. Don't have anything WGP. The cocker I have is a clone. I guess I have quite a few products that could be linked these days to K2/BE. Most of which I purchased when the smaller companies were just that... smaller, independant companies. But I don't get that dirty-hand feeling, knowing I have such gear. I get more of that dirty-hand feeling with the old SPAAs and Freak set I have. |

i cant remember if i got my ugly stick pre K2 or post K2. i know my reels post k2 cuz its a POC.
same with one of the BE guns i own... anyway. i consider BE a good part of paintball. lets post some of their guns...

Given their reputation amongst higher-end players... no one would buy it. It would be a disaster, financially, for Brass Eagle. They make a good profit on the entry-level guns they have on the market. No need for them to waste R&D, production and marketing funds on something higher end that not many people would go out and purchase. Besides, in the current K2 conglomerate... WGP can handle their higher-end market. |
