I want to buy a drop forward, however I noticed a friend of mine built his drop. He however access to heavier equipment than I do. If I would build one, how hard would it be, and how much money would I have to put into it.

You can have like a flat piece of aluminum and bend it twice sort of like a staircase going down.

Or you can take one whole piece of aluminum and mill it to a full drop.

Sorry for the bad paint skills. I think your best bet would be bending it because it doesn't take many tools.

Or you could make a chain link drop. They look awsome if they are constructed well.

Um...I'm not sure if there is a spray, but you're be better off welding it. Or if you don't have a welder you can use JB Weld.

Talk to tigman250 or triggerhappy1.  They've made drops.  I'm actually looking into one, but don't know if I'll be able to do it on my I-S(Imagine Select) backup.  It keeps sucking up liquid CO2, so I have to use my remote.

If you just want a functional drop that anyone can make just with a handheld drill, go to the hardware store. They usually have racks of metal like threaded rods, steel rods, brass pieces, and flat galvanized steel. Buy a length of 3/4" wide flat steel.

Cut it down to length, allow for about 2 inches on each end for the bottomline, and whatever length you want in the middle.

Measure out 1/2" from one end, mark it, measure 3/4" from the mark and mark again.

Centerpunch the material and drill it out with a .2" bit, do the same on the other side, then stick it in a vise or whatever you have to bend it.

You can paint it or whatever.

Simple ghetto drop.
