go with the a-5 and put a flatline barrel on that...just watch the cyclone feed cuz if it gets jammed or sumthing and u have to clean it u havta do it off the feild.......i sure also hope u have the money...the a-5 and the flatline barrel arent cheap...and if you are looking to take single shots instead of waisting 15 painballs on a long distant shot u shuld get the e-grip...thios will give u a variety of shooting modes to choose from..

The 98c is a great starter gun. It is very durrable and easy to maintain. The perfect gun for a new player. There are hundreds of upgrades for it and many things you can do with the gun. It is cheap way to get into paintball and start playing right away.

If you play speedball then get the Custom Pro. If you play woods then get the A-5. As for upgrading... Play a little with your gun before you start to upgrade. By doing this you will see what will help your game the most.

no, don't get a 16in barrel. A 12 or 14in will shoot very accuratly. Anything over about 14in is just a waste. The J&J Ceramic is a good barrel and it's not very expensive.

i would say tippmann 98c (custom pros are pretty much 98c's with a few upgrades that you might not even like), because a-5s are big and bulky and heavy and not very upgradable and customizable. custom pros and 98s have about a bagillion mods and upgrades out there. if you want proof, go in the ups and customizing section and see all the mods you can do for the 98 compared to the mods for the a5

Dont get the sniper barrel, PLEASE! worst barrels ever invented. and for length, the barrel length affects nothing. not accuracy, not distance. NOTHING. accept weight, how much stuff your gunna snag your barrel on, and toital length of your gun

in my opinion 10-12 inch barrels are good for both woodsball and speedball. i hated my 14 inch barrel on my old a-5. way too long. as for the flatline, if your going to spend that much on a barrel, get an accurate one, because, yes the flatline does shoot further, but the paint doesnt splatter on impact past how far a paintball out of a normal barrel would shoot anyways. if you want a good barrel, i personally like the Custom Products 1 piece barrels. they come in any color you would want, and they go all the way down to 10 inch.

Are you insane? A-5's have tons of mods and customization options.

I never said anything about a 16 inch barrel or any upgrades at all.....did you quote the wrong person?

Go with the 98c that way you can let it grow with you. Its great for woods and speed and is very durrable.

go to your local field and see what people are using, and maybe ask if you can try it out..if you get to a field like ours everyone is there to help you out. also most people will let you try their marker...they do here anyway...I'm sure most ballers are kewl with that anyway

98 custom hands down. I thought about the A5 for a looong time, and then i learned that the cyclone can only do 17.4 bps. but so can other hoppers for the same price as the cyclone (for the 98). 17.4 is fast and what not, but what if you want to shoot faster, i mean, you can shoot 17.4 with a 98, why the extra dough? The A5 comes with a quick strip screws, cyclone, and a removable trigger and grip. But i would just save the extra money, and buy what you need for your game, not frivolous cyclone feed, that will limit you to 17.4 bps in the future.

as for the barrel i would recomend the lapco bigshot 8.5 incher. length has nothing to do with accuracy in the world of paint ball.

Buy a custom pro, then a fast hopper like empire reloader.

i would say get the 98c, but i couldnt say to get the A5, ive never used one. But with the 98, u can play great woodsball with it, and then you can trick it out to your liking and eventually play speedball wit it

the A5 and Flatline is a rather expensive combo considering yoru just starting. Id say you should get a 98C. You get a graet gun, for a fraction of the price.

I dont agree, I would hate to be stuck with something that can only do 17.4 bps. The halo B can do 22 bps which is what you can tune a super RT to. You can upgrade the halo b and put in a victory board where they say it will feed 35 bps, but ive seen 30.5 bps. The cyclone just cant upgrade. Also, the Qloader can do some crazy stuff. These hoppers are expensive, but they aren't a waste. You get the fastest speeds, where the pneumatics of the 98 (or A5) are a limiting factor (instead of a cyclone).

i don't really like q-loaders. they are good for low profile, and they are very fast, but they only hold 100 paintballs. i guess there are more good things than bad, but in the end it's all personal choice.

I've had absolutely no problems with my rig and very few with my kids 98c.  $139.00 for a 98c... $169.00 for a Custom Pro... $199.00 for an A5...  I think the CP is a good deal and would have bought it for my kid if it had been out.  The upgrades are well worth the extra $30.00.  even if you take them off, they are fun to change around and with which to experiment.

Go Custom Pro with response for a little over 200, get barrel ups from there.  I say go with a 12 or 14 inch J&J or Lapco BigShot.  dont get such a big barrel, because it doesnt help with accuracy.

My opinion, w/e
