My day was good for a whole 10 minutes. After waking up I answer the
phone and my one of my cousins was asking me for a ride into Halifax. I
had no clue why he would be asking me this. Then he informs me that my
other cousin Nick was in the hospital. Apparently he was run over by a car. His brain is swollen up and 50% chance of surviving. I can flip a coin and see if he lives or dies. I remember when I was young he was my hero. I used to spend a few weeks of the summer staying with him. He taught me everything I know about mountain biking. I still have fond memories of him taking me along with his friends for some riding in the woods. Right now I really don't know what to do with myself. I feel pretty useless. So I came on here. His home computer is still turned on and he is even logged onto his Instant Messenger. If you believe in any kind of God, please pray for him. ok let's keep on track here boys, let's not highjack this thread..... I'm sorry about your cuz. This might not be the right thing to say right now but i belive i have to say it. If someone close to you dies, you should be sad because you will miss them, but i wouldn't think they'd want you to mourne(sp?). My dad said this to me. He said "when i die, i want my funeral to be a celebration of my life. I want everyone to be happy, not sad." I also think the same way. But i do hope he will be okay. While I think it is extremly stupid what your cousin did, I wish you

Firstly, thanks a lot for the support. Secondly, I only found out late yesterday what he did and only had time to tell PBC before I went out. My cousin was being an idiot. Plain and simple. As far as I know he was hood surfing. Basically he was on the hood of a moving car and fell off in front and his head was run over by the car. I thought he was smarter than that. Don't fool around with motor vehicles is all I have to see to you all. Learn from his mistake. I'm sure he knows it was a stupid move on his part. As far as his condition. He had some surgery that cut open his head to give room for his swelling brain. The surgery is a success and he is in an induced coma for at the very least a week. All they can do is wait. ------------- |

I knew a kid that rode a motorcycle drunk, hit his head, and swelled up to the size of a beach ball. Very horrible experience. While I hope your cousin lives I also hope if he will be not the same or a vegatable it's almost better to pass away. My grandpa rolled his truck with no seat belt and got ejected. The doctors saved him but his life is almost....worthless. I pray for you and your family. For anyone who is interested. I just got home from visiting him. He seems to be doing well. He is stable but tomorrow is a big day for him. This was the third day his head has been swelling. In these situations his head should start going back to normal on the fourth day. The story of how the accident happened has changed from person to person. He was likely doing something stupid at the time but that doesn't matter. No matter what the circumstances around the accident, it still happened. Thanks again. ------------- |
