So I was tinkering around with my 98C the other day, and the little black knob that goes into the hole on the powertube where the R/T goes fell out. No worries. Now, I have 2 little questions. The first is that since this hole allows air to escape, am I losing air efficeincy? or would it just be blown out of the gun anyways even if I had that little black knob in place. Second, would Tippmann sell that little black knob seperately? Or maby somebody has an extra one kicking around that I could get......

Just to update, I took out that little black plastic knob that's right below the two screws (that holds the valve in). I dried fired a couple of times, putting my finger on top of the hole. I could only do this a few times, cuase the air coming out really stung my finger, and there was a lot of pressure behind the blast. So I'm thinking about just running some microline from that hole up to the hopper, and going from there. there is obviously more than enough air (cyclone). Now to find out how to use this air to agitate the balls.....

Now to just find a fitting for that hole....

according to your other thread it didn't "fall out", it's part of the power tube you'll have to get the whole thing new. by the way how did you "take" it out?

didn't you have another thread about a cracked power tube or something? you sure do have alot of problems with your power tubes

Ok Ok. You're on to me. Here's the deal. I wanted to make my own agitated hopper, using the excess air from the gun. To do this, I took the gun apart, and discovered my Power tube was cracked. Figuring I could keep playing with it cracked, I reassembled it, aired it up and fired a few rounds. However, that little black thing shot out the side becuase the "lip" that holds it in the gun has been damaged. Therefore it is now just a cylinder, incapable of staying properly in the gun (I guess that's what you get when you buy used). All my posts have been in chronilogical order, so as something new pops up from day to day, and if I have questions, I post, looking for the answers to my questions.

Besides, so what if I've made other posts about power tubes. It helps me get a better understanding of the way Tippmann power tubes work, and I'm sure it helps others. That, and even if I didn't have problems, the answers people give me, I'll be able to help others later down the road who might be going through something similar as I am.

Now, back to the topic at hand........

calm down i just found it funny that you had so many problems with your powertube. i believe you were told in the "cracked" thread to get a new powertube. do you think you can fix your powertube that's cracked and has a missing "black knob" by creating thread after thread about it? as you were told before a call to Tippmann and you can have one for less than $10 (that's if you have to pay for it)......or mabey just one more thread will make it all better

I take it your little agitated hopper idea didnt pan out?

Just get a new powertube, take your valve out of your old one and put it in the new one. And be done with it. Its not smart to screw around with things that break easily.

where'd you get the idea I was gonna fix it? There's a new one in the mail right now. I hardly think I've been spamming the forums with "thread after thread". Lemme see. Thread about cracked power tube. There's one. Thread about air efficiency as a result of not having black knob. Yep. definetly another thread about my power tube. Agitated hopper thread? For sure that's all about the power tube./sarcasim (which, by the way is on hold. I'd still like to do that, I just think the power tube is slightly more important)

This post isn't about my powertube. It's about air being wasted as a result of not having that black knob. Would my air efficiency be wasted?

**NEWSFLASH** "the black knob" is part of the powertube! it dosen't come off unless it gets broken off somehow, therefore this thread IS about the powertube

Ok, thank you. I did not know that. I thought it was seperate. This thread wasn't a waste, becuase I just learnt something new.

Now, I'll wait patiently for this thread to die.
