This hasn't been posted about yet. But think about this, how do
most of our products get to us? By transportation. What
does that transportation need to run? GAS! Basically prices
for everything will probably go up because of the gas shortage/price
raise. What happens when everything doubles in price and gas
triples? People will not be able to pay for gas to get to work,
get fired, and then not be able to afford anything! This is just
going to cause a downward spiral that will only get worse before it
gets better (I'm guessing at least 5 years). By then it might
start to get better, but nothing will be the same again.

siphoning from ran a grocery store? What happens when there is no
people to give you food? What happens when those people cant run
the power plants? What happens when the police can't work?
What happens is every city in the US becomes violent like new orleans,
complete anarchy.

Don't be a slave to gas addiction. Ride your bike to work... like many other places in the world. What is happening now is that goods and services are not worth the gas they use so they will disapear. I have a closet full of rifles and ammo so if things really get that hairy I can get whatever I need to survive, I aim for no excess. I stopped by a feed store and started setting up a vegitable garden today, figured it could be good timing and I had wanted to set on up for awhile. Finally us Americans will sell our V-8s and start carpooling, use public transit.

Nick, I fear the day we have to revert to murder to survive, well that
day has come. I think everything should be done to stop it.
IMO 100 military police officers is not enough, we need AT LEAST 1
regiment of marines in there, right now 50-100 firefighters and their
families are being held hostage in Perish. Bush needs to send
actual soldiers in, send the navy to New Orleans. Do anything we
have to to get control back. I really wish I could go down and
help out the good guys, but I'm afraid I would hender more than help
most likely.

Same here.. couldn't get in anyway. What they need is a large scale police action. The Army/Marines only kill, as is their job, but no good to defuse this situation unless we write off all the innocents as well. I hate to think like that, especially for fellow Americans. Could sure use some of the MPs though. Would be nice to see some FBI cracking down on those gangs. Army/Marines would be good for providing escort and protection so that the others can get their jobs done, but I think if they tried to get them to manage the people it would result in a bloodbath. Rifleman don't carry handcuffs, that spot is reserved for an extra magazine.

And its sorta unconstitutional. Our military is not trained to police its own people.

Ugh, I'm not so glad to live in Hawaii now. The Gas Cap bill was
passed which caps how much refineries can charge per gallon of gas but
STILL gas has jumped up to now $3.11 a gallon.
And for those suggesting to ride my bike to school or for my parents to
ride their bikes to work, its about 10 miles to my school and 30 to
their offices. Bear in mind that we live on a MOUNTAIN so its all
uphill comming back.

in central MD people are paying 3.80, supposed to rise to 4.50 tomorow. in my area there is only 1 station left with any gas at all, and only about 800 gallons. expect it'll be gone by the time most people read this post.

The protected wilderness would hardly do anything if we drilled there. But we should save it for a war effort.
Then again if everyone would just be open minded and vote democrat all the problems would dissapear.

Precisely.
But I'm gonna blame this on the Soviet Union. Sputnik sent out signals spawning the Hurricane.

I have proof that the Underground Union of Soviet Socialist Republic
(UUSSR) is actually using Mir, which they cleverly said to have burned
in the atmosphere, to join up with Sputnik and send down a ray that
heats the ocean to ideal hurricane temperatures.

the only problem with riding bikes to work is that my dads work is 85 miles away, and thats just going there, then he has to come back so its kinda a bunch of crap, i think if the confederacy had of won or we were communist we wouldnt have this problem since we would just steal other countries gas.
i might be wrong about this but doesnt iraq have like a crapload of oil just sitting there. we need to jack some of theres.
