Still pretty interesting. People are all, "Oh no, they can get me
behind the tree!!!" Comeon, just step to the side and shoot the guy,
hundred bucks says the guy points it straight at you and misses cause
its ganna curve.
Unless you practice changing the direction on it religiosly, you will get pwned.

Well, if you play with a guy covering you you can chase the guy behind the tree out with the apex and have your pal tag him.
I can see it being a useful tool for a team but if everyone had them it would probably be risky. Maybe 1 or 2 guys

^I don't see how it's anymore a novelty than the Flatline.
It actually takes the Flatline and owns it. Does everything the Flatline can do and more.
I wouldn't buy one, but I saw that video and it seems pretty accurate in standard mode and the balls were also pretty accurate when he started curving them.
Though it shot in Flatline mode like the real Flatline, not very acurately! LOL

It costs just barely more than a Flatline, and it also looks somewhat like a suppressor, and does the Flatline thing, while also doing the standard barrel thing, while also doing the curving thing!
I think also heard something about it being pretty easy to clean, though don't quote me on that.
Looks quality to me, although I will say from the looks of it BT has ripped off the JCS stocks! Oh well, if you're gonna be a biter it's best to copy the best.

I have used it and played against it. I personally like it better then the flatline. Like anything else it has pros and cons. But it is easy/quick to change settings and also easy to clean. But I have enough barrels, no need to drop the $$$$

yeah, the downward arc-effect would actually be the one that those speedballers would be all over!
I was honestly impressed with the amount of curve it had and how accurate it shot in sideways mode.
definitely would be a nightmare if used right on the speedball field.

You can pull this off fairly effectively with the Flatline by tipping the marker left or right... the APEX does sound interesting though.

^Actually, not really.
With the Flatline, to get the downward arc, you would have to hold your gun completely upside down, which is basically impossible during a game.

when i had my flatline it didn't arc upwards alot (just a little bit)
and not enough to get an arc, bend around a corner, downward arc.so it probably wouldn't happen.

I know what you mean, but it isn't as extreme as the apex.
I actually didn't even see them shoot it with the downward arc in the video, but I just assumed it was capable.
I would agree that the downward arc would be very useful.

He was also shooting from his hip. That made the gun wave around a lot and killed his accuracy.
You can set the amount of backspin on the thing. It looked like he put
it all the way which is why the paint was curving up at the end. I
heard about some sort of scale to determine backspin, 1-8. 1 is none
and 8 is "Super Flatline"

^That's very interesting! The more I hear about it, the more I would like to get my hands on one! I would agree that it seemed to be in super flatline mode, tons of backspin made it rise at the end.
I also saw that Flatlines were $99 a CountyPaintball, so I just assumed the price had dropped.
Also, I haven't seen enough about it to know for sure, and I only saw the video once about a week ago, but it seems like it is very easy and fast to change/rotate the barrel modes. Seems like it could easily be done while someone is behind a bunker for a half second or so....rotate your barrel while his head is down, next thing he knows he's getting balls sideways and downwards on his head.
I won't buy one even if they become a big hit, just because it's still kinda a ot of money and I'm all hooked on my one-piece barrels, but it is still a smart idea, I would just like to see more of the design.

Looks are personal preference!
And my preference is actually for the BT Apex! The Flatline looks a bit gaudy...it's too big of a suppressor, and the barrel's finish itself isn't up to par with a $100 barrel, IME.
Especialy when you figure in what they both can do, the price, and the weight....I'm willing to bet the A5 Flatline weighs significantly more than the Apex.
Basically, the Apex can do a few things the Flatline can't, while costing the same price.

I've seen one and got to handle it. I haven't played with it and
don't plan to right now, but I know someone who did and will see if I
can get their impression. The interior of the barrel is
well-polished and looks like it would clean up easily. The spin
inducer at the end is made of plastic and works by means of a sliding
lever. There were no graduated markings on the one I saw to aid
in adjusting for specific settings. (This includes both
adjustments for amount of spin and for angle of spin.) When the
lever is adjusted it moves a piece of plastic with a rubber pad on it
so that it protrudes into the path of the ball. It looks like it
would be prone to paint breakage at the most extreme spin setting, but
that is just my opinion based on looks. There is enough room in
and around the spin-tab thingy that it would be difficult to clean on
the field with a squeegee, although it should rinse off fairly easily
if cleaned between games. If I can get some feedback from someone
who used it, or if I try it myself, I will post more information.

Hate to break it to you kiddo but
the only skills I see these days are effective wiping. On the
contrary this will add new skills and a new level of adapting. No
longer are you safe behind a bunker, now you have to consider new
approches by the other team. It will take a lot of skills to play
with or against this barrel.
I mean really, you can be lazy and just use that, or you can move your ass and make a run or just bunker them.
Its called adapting. I
suppose your going to call the military lazy when they use missles to
take out sniper possitions rather then running up and going rambo on
the guy?
If everyone had one of those, There would be no point to having bunkers.
Yes there would. Your
forgetting the barrel changes the direction of the paintball. A
smart player would use this to his advantage and leave his bunker to
get an angle on the shooter who would have a much harder time trying to
hit the target if his balls kept shooting to the left or to the right.
If this product goes through, it will also make snap-shooting nearly
impossible..... it won't matter if you can or not, with those,
someone can shoot you if you snap or not...... The game will turn

Everyone is talking about how "oh I can shoot around bunker's and hit people, the flatline can't do that" well it can and it does it alot more efficiently. You're in the center of the field behind a big pillar bunker and there is an opposing player on your right, You set your apex to curve right and you begin to unload at him. But then before you know it another player comes out of the snake on the left you try to take him out but all your balls are still curving right. You tuck behind your bunker to change the curve setting and before you know it both players have moved up and now your the one pinned down.
With a flatline you could have just tilted your gun from right to left or with any other barrel just turn and shoot.
It definately is a great concept but I think on a speedball course you just wouldn't have enough time to fiddle with settings and all that. In the woods it would be nice but in a speedball environment it would create more problems than it would solve.

^Thank you kind sir!
That's what I mean, if you wanted to, with the Apex, you could have it set for regular Flatline mode, and do what you are saying with the tilting/canting of the gun.....the Apex can do exactly the same thing the Flatline can do!
But,with the Apex, you also have the option to get those angles without having to tilt the gun, plus I assume you can get that downward arc-effect, which would be the most useful/beneficial characteristic and something you would have to turn the Flatline upside down to do!
And all that appears to be in a pretty short and lightweight package, which IMHO doesn't look too shabby AT ALL.
