Hey yall. I have $140 that I was gonna buy a tippmann custom 98 pro(I spent a little). But now my dad bought me a gun, and A-5. So, now I have a stock A-5, nothing changed. I have a 20 oz Co2 tank. So, I have $140 in upgrades. What would you get?

Get a new barrel first. It doesn't matter whether you play speed or woods, the stock barrel is terrible. I suggest a J&J ceramic for about $35. I have one and I love it.
Next you might want to buy something to make your gun more consistant. Co2 is very inconsistant. You can get HPA which is the best, but also the most expensive. Just starting out, I would just get a nice expansion chamber. It gives the co2 time to expand so you gun doesn't freeze up. The DOP X-Core is probably the best.
You can also get a firepower upgrade. There is the e-grip and the r/t. If you play woodsball, I suggest the r/t. Finely tuned, it can shoot up to 20 bps. If you are more of a speedball player and enter tourneys, you will want the e-grip, as the r/t is illegal in most tournements.
That would be a good start. The best thing to do is just go out and play before you decide on any upgrades.

I am probably gonna play woodsball alot. But, my friend is considering starting a team, and he wants me on it, so... I could be doing tourneys too. Well, I am a complete newb, so that is why I am asking you guys.

Heres what I would get first; New barrel, X-chamber, E-grip since r/t's aren't allowed at most fields, and a JCS Duel trigger.

I found some E-Grips, brand new where I live for like 78 bucks. So, that adds like 22 bucks, lol.

That is a good price for e-grips. I have heard of some shops jacking up the price as much as $125.

It's alright. I'd get a J&J Ceramic and the e-grip you were talking about.

Get a good barrel first! I would recomend the dye ultralight, and i am amazed with it, it is my pride and joy. to use it you will have to get an adapter to use custom 98 barrels for ur A5, but it is worth the money. If i were u stay away from JJ ceramics, they r good for the first couple times then arnt very good.

I am very happy with my rig. Personally my favorites are the flatline (might want to check out the APEX instead now) for around $100 and the R/T for another $75.00. The R5 hopper was only $15.00.... you only have to get hit on the nose of your stock hopper 4-5 times to realise they designed that thing poorly... But it really depends on your preferences more than mine... I'd play with the stock A5 for a while and get used to it. It is a great marker. I love mine.

All you need is a good barrel (J&J despite what he says up there...), E-Grip, drop, and a JCS Duel trigger. Perfect for any style of play.

Get something like an All American barrel. Those things rock. If you buy one of those, you really won't need to worry much about an new barrel for as long as you own the gun. Unless you get a kit.
