Just an observation of history. Several large metropolitan areas of Europe and Asia expierienced man made disaters, where after aerial bombardment killing up to 10,000 plus the city and the population would be cleaned up and operational in days. The populace did not turn on thier own, and no armed guards were required on any relief supply convoys or trains.

The Germans evacuated several major metros in Prussia before the Russian advance in a matter of days with little in the way of remaining logistical support. And the populace actually walked west carrying their few belongings on thier back, something it appears the average modern American is incapable of, without a car or government assistance he would rather stay and face the storms, and blame everyone but themselves.

Yeah they didn't have much to carry so that made it easy for them. Most Americans  would be to stubborn to leave a lot of their stuff. I do see where you are going with it though.

When did we look down on other peoples action in a crisis?

I think you like to argue, you should look into becoming a legal attorney.

I can see people staying during the storm because they werent 100% sure the levys would fail but to be mad at the government and such for not evacuating them fast enough is stupid. They chose to stay and now they are facing consequences and need someone to blame for their lack of good judgement.

Uh ok, our entire infrustructure shut down all because of New Orleans....I just went to Wendys for a Classic Triple...I paid for it with an obsolete American dollar.

Its Obsolete because the entire American infrustructure shut down.

Seriously.

I dont pay any attention to the news much but how does this hurricane's response compare to the Big Asian wave a while back?

OS, would you care to make an actual specific point and/or argument, instead of throwing out vague historical observations (of varying accuracy) with limited connection to anything in particular?

It is very difficult to respond to anything when there is no beef.  I encourage you to use short bullet points.

How are the people supposed to pump that much water out in days? Or even weeks. They could buy SCUBA gear and make it an underwater city (which would be really cool). I understand what you are saying, but I the state of the cities are different.

Im going to point out somthing I said in another thread.

A) Whereas other hurricanes such as Floyd and Andrew have caused problems, neither hit a major city as closely as Katrina hit New Orleans,

B) There were no large amounts of standing water in the other disasters listed. Standing water greatly slows down the relief and support efforts.

Pretty much the worst possibles all came together on this one. Its hard to place blame.

Hey, this is just like the rest of your posts, you can't compair a war to a natural disaster, and you are compairing the US to comunist countries. Like I said in another post of yours a high security prison had a jail break that's why there is so much shooting and killing. And I would think that it would be kind of hard to evacuate people under 20 feet of water.

Its easy to rebuild after an explosion, not after everything is 20 feet under the surface of water and under more pressure than the air normaly puts on it.

yes yes i know i think logically

fully operational? i doubt it. and plus, they weren't under water.

i honestly don't think new orleans will be fully rebuilt. the entire city is built on sediment, there is simply no bedrock. they lose a 1/4 inch a year to the water, and imagine what the flood did. i would guess i took out a good 8-14 inches. they should just leave it there.

Normally I'm fairly right-wing, but this is a bit absurd. You're bashing the U.S. because New Orleans isn't restored to an operational status? A massive city, mostly destroyed, and underwater no less, cannot be repaired in three days, two weeks, a month, or even a year.
