My favorites are:

I was told to watch City of God, and I did, and I thouht it was a pretty worthwhile and original movie. Not in my best of all-time but really really good.
It's hard to list the best of all-times, and a lot of good ones have already been said, so I'll try and list a few that aren't on here.
-Ronin
-Predator
-A Man Apart
-Heat
-Reservoir Dogs
And a funny-ass movie that surprised me with it's laughs was that "Soul Plane"! But I'm weird.

I just was reminded, that the Big Lebowski is the most overrated comedy of all times, IMHO.
I heard all about it,t that it was a hilarious movie, especially for a stoner like me, and I just wanted to say that I watched the whole movie with an open-mind...I wanted to like it!
But it just sucked IMHO.
The Big Lebowski is a crappy comedy, and an even worse stoner movie, IMHO.
The only bright spot is John Goodman with his sub-machine gun!

How is the Big Lebowski not funny? It is one of the few comedies I actually own since its humor is timeless and doesnt get old after the first viewing.
A movie that is excellent but never mentioned except by me is Leaving Las Vegas. Good Stuff.

People that don't like one Coen Bros. movie tend not to like them all.
It's just something about them you have to understand I think. People
don't get the dark repetitive dry comedy out of movies like Fargo, O
Brother, and the Big Lebowski. Those who do, love their movies.

I honestly am into all sorts of movies, but a stoner-comedy is one that is actually made for me!
What are some parts you thought were funny?
I honestly gave it a 3 out of 10, maximum.
I remember the dude pissing on his carpet, which is mildly amusing, John Goodman is a bright spot throughout the whole movie, earnign it an extra whole point(up from 2), they smoke weed, which counts for a star or 2 by itself, I remember the weird(**edited**) bowler Jesus, and I thought it was kinda funny when the dude meets that chicks husband..,.the old dude.
But overall, I just don't even think the movie was funny enough to float as a comedy, and there aren't enough aspects to keep it in the running as a quality movie for me.
I actually liked fargo and Brother where art thou better than the Big Lebowski, but you're right, I don't like any of them all too much.

They could have benefited from the addition of a marijuana expert on the editing team, they kinda blew the G13 out of porportion, but that is honestly a great, original movie!

Menace II Society is definitely good, but I think Boyz in the Hood didn't glamorize life in LA like Menace did.

Scenes that were funny in The Big Lebowski? Nearly all of them. Umm....
Nearly all scenes with The Dude were funny. John Goodman was also a riot. Steve Buscemi had a few scenes that were funny as well.
How is it not comical to try and dump your buddies ashes of a sea cliff only to have the wind blow it back and cover the person standing next to you? To each there own I guess.

I guess it is just difference in taste, because I just didn't find the Big lebowski that funny. It's an okay movie, I guess I just went in expecting too much! By the time the movie was ending, I was kinda disappointed that I didn't really have any major laughs. I guess the biggest thing I would say is the movie is "quirky" and unique, but almost everything it tried to pull off like that didn't really hit me correctly. I don't know, but I would say the final scene was a prime example. I could see why someone would think it's funny, but to me it just was too 'forced".
I must give props to Clark kent, as it seems his taste is a lot different than mine, but he is the first to mention a Terminator movie!
Terminator and part 2 are absolute classics....you jus wish your Governor was as hard as mine!
