Ok, I know there is a difference between how fast a bolt/valve cycles, and how many bps it can actually put out. What brought me to this question was that some people were saying that the DOP Pro Seal could cycle faster than the stock Tippmann valve assembly. Now, excluding any electronic mods (e-grip, e-bolt), on a 98C, would this mean that the DOP can fire faster than a stock powervalve?

Or if I have any information slightly mixed up, please correct me.

i think if you had 2 stock 98customs one with the stock valve and one with the other vavle.  I think they would shoot the same BPS.  I think they mean that the DOP valve can handle higher rates of fire.  i am not sure though just my 2 cents

98c stock internals are the best

Even if one could theoretically cycle faster than the other, the faster assembly wont make you shoot more balls per second.

All the DOP Pro-Seal is, is a aluminum powertube, you use the stock valve...

Ok. So I'm thinking a need a good explanation of cycle fire. (I obvioulsy know what bps are), but I'm getting a little confused as to when people say "this valve cycles faster", what exactly are they refering to?

And please, to people who are going to tell me that stock internals are best, please don't. I know that, and I've told others that as well. I never said in my question that I was going to buy a Pro Seal, or even look at one. This thread is too clear up some confustion I have on what "cycles" are when compared to bps.

CPS = cycles per second = no ball shooty

BPS = balls per second = ball shooty

for instance i can "cycle" my 98 C at 25 CPS it can cycle that fast with no balls

when you add balls it slows because of the added restance of the bolt pushing balls arround. i don't know what my 98 C max BPS is because i don't have anything that can feed it
