i got this cool idea! make a basic home-made shotshell using a toilet paper tube and fill it with paintballs and rubberband some toilet paper around the end to keep the paintballs from falling out. figure out a way to make an adapter that will mount around your barrel. this way, you can do regular shooting, but switch to a massive shotgun blast in seconds (for scenario play mostly). gimme improvements and ideas if you want, or rate my idea. ------------- Evil Elvis: "Detrevni is definally like a hillbilly hippy from hell"

wait i know this is a horrible idea but i could actually think of a way to make this work, it wont be like normal rules and make a quarter sized mark it one of em hits but we can bend the rules for this kinda gun, ok say we keep the regular barrel on the gun, and we get like a foam or paper or whatever kind of container to hold these really small aproxamently bb sized paintballs *i know im gunna get flamed for this one but i gotta try* and the shell is designed to after it leaves the barrel the wind makes it fly apart and open up and all the little paintballs start to spread like a shot gun, i know itll be really hard to do, but it is possible, and u might not be able to use a hopper for this type of gun it may have to be made with a breach in it so u can load one or two shells, here ill try to make somwhat of a close version to what i wanna use to make the shell that holds the paintballs... ------------- [IMG]http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c128/sneaky_sniper/Invader_Zim.jpg"> |

also i figured out how to hold more then a couple rounds in it, by the way to make this kinda gun ur gunna have to buy a gun that only works as a shotgun. anyways, u basically make a clip for it, it slides in the bottom and holds 4 or 5 of these foam or plastic or whatever shells and uses springs to push the shells up, and lets make it a pump type gun ------------- [IMG]http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c128/sneaky_sniper/Invader_Zim.jpg"> |

wow. people are getting serious about my topic. If you take the ball detent out you shoot a couple balls at once. I did this with my ProCarbine and its 10 inch barrel and the 4 balls that came out of the barell spread out OK. Iknow its not practical cause the paint comes out of the barrel when you point it down, but its pretty fun shooting 4 balls at once. |

lol an actual paintball shotgun is stupid because there are electros like octains and stuf that spit well over 28bps so why buy a mechanical gun and make it a 4 or 5 ball shotty when u could shoot way way more in a second? ------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. |

Because 28bps is a ridiculous waste of paint. Anything above 10bps is, in my opinion, and even that should only ever be used for suppression fire. I'm not a speedballer, though, and a paint shotgun would obviously be marketed towards MilSim or woods play.

Ok... Sorry if this has already been said I didn't feel like readin the full 3 pages. First of all, airsoft bbs suck. And I think they should be kept at .68 caliber for paintball use. Secondly, unless each paintball has a barrel that fits it then you will have HORRIBLE consistancy and you probably wont be able to get it down the barrel. And if you get them in the barrel one right after the other then you will also most likely have bad consistancy and efficientcy. So, if you had a multi barreled marker that fired through each barrel simutaniously it might work. UNLESS... you had a chamber for each individual paintball that went around 7 inches and then that all went into the same barrel for any other length. That 7 inches would give it enough time to climb to 290 fps or whatever and then they would all exit through the same "barrel" at the end. Just some ideas. |

I made a shotty shell out of paper so it would break away and it fits in the front of my old Brass Eagle Marauder. The shell fits 4 paintballs and it has to be front loaded. I test shoot it without a barrel and all 4 pball's hit the wall from close range and break.  I'm still testing, but so far, this works quite well except for the horrible balance due to no weight in the front of my gun and a steel C02 tank hanging off the back. Yeah, me too. This horse isn't dead, its just really really sick. I think that it would be easy to make a shotgun if each paintball had its own barrel for a few inches, then went into a bigger one. Maybe four barrels with two paintballs in each. Thats 8 paintballs fire simutainiously. Its like a handheld paintball landmine. |

Well it depends on what you mean by putting them all in one barrel. If you had a .68 caliber barrel and you had 3 or 4 paintballs in it that might work.. But having like a .136 caliber barrel and have like four paintballs all jammed in there I don't think that would work very well. There would be too much space around them. I may be wrong though... |
