Great, now every kid walking in is gonna go straight to it and say "Wow, now I'm gonna be such a pro sniper! Man, this is like the best gun ever!"

I had a 12-14 year old with his friend and dad trying to decide whether to buy the m98, or the Viewloader Orion, based on which had a longer barrel. I find everyone who comes in, but the guy with the antique SL68 who said he hadn't played for like 15 years, insulting to the honourable sport that is paintball.

I think that you need to have a license to buy a paintball gun, not based on age, but your knowledge on the game. I started researching paintball since I was 10. I didn't play till I was 12/13.

I started playing young as well, just renting, didnt pretend to know a thing about it, just asked alot of questions and such. Came on here after renting and falling in love with a 98 custom to see what else I should know, and here I am today.

Ill go to the paintball section in WalMart to see if anyone is buying a gun. Sometimes ill see people checking them out, checking out the masks and tanks. Ill tell them I play and sometimes they ask are the masks really necessary. Cause they think the gun couldnt possibly shoot as fast as I say it does. I ask where they play, they say 'oh behind my friends house'. I say do yall wear masks. No.

Fine if you're willing to learn, everyone has to start somewhere, but its the cocky kids who are (supposedly) the pros because they have a longer barrel, and snipe from behind a barrel. I remember my first time playing, nothing like I expected. I ended up cowering behind a half wall for most the day, rather than masterfully sniping like the pro a newb to the sport is so pre-determinedly destined to be.
