Here is a chance for people to show their reading comprehension skills.
Over the past few weeks I have been mentioning that a change was going to to place in the saga of Hades. Well today, it went down. Can anyone guess?
Hint. It is big, silver, and shiny.
I will post pics tommorow when I am not being so lazy....
Good Luck and Happy Guessing.

I went on a random bus adventure today with some friends because busses
were free today. We got sushi, got mauled by a big ass seagle, and
stood outside a sex shop laughing at the fat men, and ugly women going
in and out until the manager told us to leave.
twas fun.

I plan on putting a supercharger on it but California has retarded smog laws so I think I am going to have to get the part out of the state.
It has 2.4liter/160hp(which will increase to 200hp with the supercharger) engine which isnt bad for a four banger.
I was also concidering a Mustang and Nissan Z but those were a little out of my price range.

I am going to make my own graphics and get them airbrushed on hopefully. Something along the lines of a horror theme, something Rob_Zombie-eque. But who knows when I will have that kind of money to spend on mods.
I bought this to replace the van but I would rather have the van back. I wasnt done with it. God played a mean joke on me and took it away. It wasnt really to be put down yet.
I would rather walk everywhere then be seen in a Scion XB. (The boxy one.)
I took some pics but I dont have a cable to download them to this PC with me.

A stock engine wont gain for than 5-8 PSI safely. Ide save your money and re-do all the stuff, stronger springs, rods and all the odds and ends and a nice turbo charger a front mounted intercooler, you will be infinitly happier with your set up.
But if you want it just 200 hundred HP and affordable, turbo charge the stock engine, and get an intercooler and a cold air intake and an exaust system. All that is easily below 3,000 dollars. But its going to void your warrentee

The Supercharger is developed and will be installed by Scion therefore warranty is not voided. Also I have no plans of racing this wehicle. Therefore I really dont need a Turbocharger or a NOS system. I just want more power as I rip through the highways of California.
A supercharger (also known as a blower, a positive displacement pump or a centrifugal pumper) is a gas compressor used to pump air into the cylinders of an internal combustion engine. The additional mass of oxygen that is forced into the cylinders allows the engine to burn more fuel, which improves the volumetric efficiency of the engine and makes it more powerful. A supercharger is powered mechanically by belt- or chain-drive from the engine's crankshaft. It is similar in purpose to the closely related turbocharger, but a turbocharger is powered by the flow of the engine's exhaust gases driving a turbine. Superchargers may absorb as much as a third of the total crankshaft power of the engine, and in many applications are less efficient than turbochargers.

I personally wouldn't supercharge it, ever.
150hp is pretty "peppy" for a smaller car, and it will no doubt be great on gas.
I just think putting a supercharger on a Scion is kinda like putting an E-Bolt on a M98C....sure, it's taking your gun/car to the next level, but it's just not as cost effective as supping up a vehicle that is more geared towards being tuned.
If I were you, the first thing i would buy would be a tornado, no joke.
|
Posted By: DBibeau855
Date Posted: 09 October 2005 at 4:53pm
Typhoon intake from K and N. Why are they supercharging a bloody 4 cylender... It will rob HP off the line. A turbo would be better, and you would get more boost, well not really, a stock naturaly aspirated engine can only take 5-8 pounds of boost when you are talking about a scion.

Haha, that reminds me of my sisters graduation from college. Bill Cosby was there, and he was telling the audience of a time when he was in San Fransico and he came to a stop sign at the top of a hill. He said, (something like this)"I thought, by the time I take my foot off the brake and put it on the gas pedal, I'll be back at the bottom of the hill again!" He then went on to explain how he thought that a guy was a mile away with binoculars saying "Look, Martha, we got another one" in a funny voice, and I laughed. Bill Cosby pwns.

It depends on the state. I think there are some that have limits as young as 14 but I think that has to do with farming equiptment....
My guess is that most States have give out permits as young as 15 but parents have to be in the car or something like that.

Not driver superior but mehcanically superior YES.
A manual offers a Direct transfer of the power from engine to
wheels. This = not only better performance but better fuel
economy that auomatic equiped vehical especially on lower output
vehicals like most four bangers.
Now on top of all this a maual also give the driver better control of
the vehical and allowes slowing of the vehical without use of the
brakes = less maintance costs. Add to that the added fun factor
and well its easy to see the feeling of superiority of the manual
transmishion.
Im Truck mehcanic as well so knowing how to drive stick (Even harder on a truck) is a absolute NESSECITY for me.
All that being said i prefer to have a auto trans on my Pickups as its
nice for hualing and the long trips. With the truck the fuel
economy saveings are less noticable and the massive power from the big
block v8 is more than enough to make up for the loss in performance.

I would perfer a truck to a Scion but thats just me. Scions are cool because they use very little gas, very customizable, very well equiped for very little money. I might be getting one for my birthday. I want either a white one or black.
Thats pretty cool you got one Hades.

Anyone can drive an auto, not everyone can drive a stick.

A coworker of mine has the same car in black so I wasnt too keen on getting it. Plus living out in Cali were the sun shines nearly every day of the year, black cars get very hot inside. My parents always had white cars while I grew up so I didnt need to see another white car. I have always wanted silver and am happy with it.
I plan on getting a manual in my lifetime. It just doesnt fit into my needs at the moment. Not only that, a buddy of mine works for a company that builds racing clutches so if I ever wanted to change, I could throw in some money into the car and change it to a six speed transmission.
The coworker of mine that also has this car, hers is a manual and if things go well she can teach me to drive her stick and I will teach her to drive mine.

Id get it put on something removable/ replaceable, since if you ever cut the hair, or sell the car and want to get rid of that...
