Got the new SOTY cd hat came out yesterday. Pretty good, but much different from their last CD.
Hate to say it, but it's more 'Limp Bizkitish' (Not a good thing...), it's a lot more hard core and they cuss as comepared to no cussign once in their previous cd. It also sounds a bit politically charged.. but going both ways. 'Advertise your lives through a blanket of lies, expand the truth so their profits will rise.' 'Liars casting stones at the gods they create' or even 'here was a time where this world would go to war and not even bat an eye.' But still a great cd. I'd recommend it.. though I know what most of you think about my music taste. -------------

I like half of the above stated bands. I dont care what you think about my musical sense, seeing as how I think yours sucks. We all have our own opinions, deal with it. And I was definatly looking to pick up the SOTY cd, but Im flat broke currently. |

I like the Kiss special effects, even though I lost all taste in their music a while ago. Just the whole blood from the mouth thing looks neat. -------------

There, better. Thing is.. I only listen to/like 3 of the above mentioned bands...2nd, 3rd and 4th.. though nicklebacks new song 'Photograph' is pretty good. -------------

i downloaded it a couple days ago... not as bad as i thought it would be... I saw SOTY at warped tour 2 years ago and i have to say that they do give a good show...
but whatever i have a lot of different kinds of music... from between the buried and me to john mayer to three 6 mafia |

First, those three bands automatically void any opinion you have over beat, lyrics, guitar playing, and over all not sucking. So, no more musical opnions from you. Ever. Seriously. Linkin Park? Second, at least TMV has talent. their guitar playing, drumming, lyrics(though I cant find and explanation from them, they are certainly better than "crawling in my sleep, these wouds they will not heal"), their sense of originality, their everything > everything on all three of those bands combined. Really, you wont win an argument on how The Mars Volta sucks and isnt better than linkin park or Fred Douche. EDIT: And nickleback?!?! I listen to Linkin Park, for a few years they were my favourite band, but now I feel like they put way too much attention into remixing, and collaberating with washed up retired rappers to hold my attention.
Their sound is great, though the instrumental may not be complex or elaborate, it comes together awesomely, and no, you misquoted, as it is "Crawling in my skin, these wounds they will not heal", and as I wouldn't expect them to have any ground, but alot of the lyrics written by Chester document his cocaine addiction, such as Breaking the Habit. I also listen to a bit of Creed, the songs I have heard are always catchy, and often have nice guitar intros at least. The lead singer sounds too much like Eddie Veddar though, so I'll stick to Pearl Jam (better guitar anyways). So, go ahead and critisize other's taste, but if you think it makes you sound intelligent, or mature, the truth is, no one likes a music snob. ------------- Tenacious and Versatile |

Linkin Park was my introduction to alt. rock, Our Lady Peace being the first band in my life. I then moved onto stuff like blink 182 and sum 41, never got into them, then grew out of that. I was still amazed with LP's sound, and then started listening to other rock bands that I had around the house, like Oasis, and Blur, never got into them, but have a couple of cds of each. I sort of danced around rock, trying to find what I liked best, I never liked Nirvana, and to be fair never gave them much of a chance, it sounded too downbeat and depressive with Cobain singing.
I remember never going a day without hearing a Pearl Jam song on the radio, and decided to look into them. I was shocked that they were considered Grunge, as I guess I never really comprehended the genre. I got some System of a Down into me, and then Rammstein. I can be fairly diverse in my taste, as long as it stays within rock, and usually describe my taste as varying between alt. and hard rock/metal. Some people are amazed that I can go from LP to PJ, but they both sound awesome to me. ------------- Tenacious and Versatile |
