If you never plan on getting HPA/Nitrogen then get a expansion chamber. They are made for CO2 systems to help convert the liquid CO2 into a gas which will give you more shots per tank and give you the better consistancy that you are after. Expansion chambers are also less expensive than good regulators. Besides some regulators don't work when used in a CO2 system because the CO2 will freeze up internal parts of the regulator. When you look for an expansion chamber look for one with multiple "stages". More stages means better performance but at a higher cost. If you plan on using HPA/Nitrogen someday you should consider buying a good regulator that can handle CO2 without freezing up and not an expansion chamber. When using HPA/Nitrogen a regulator is probably the best way to improve consistancy. Good regulators will help with CO2 also but not as much. Some people may dissagree on this. If you live in Canada, as stated above, and only use CO2 then you should find the best expasion chamber that you can. |

Regulators are much better than expansion chambers. I did some research into this about 5 years ago before I bought an ACI Sub Zero x-chamber. I wanted a regulator, but didn't have the money for it. I didn't care for the x-chamber, so I took it back and swapped it for a remote line. I'm hoping by Christmas to get enough money for a Palmer's Female Stablizer. When it comes to CO2, Palmer is the best.
An expansion chamber has stages. These stages help allow CO2 to expand before entering the marker. By letting the CO2 expand, there is a lesser chance of liquid CO2 entering your marker (which is very bad). Therefore, the more chambers an expansion chamber has, the better it will preform. A regulator goes a step further. It regulates the pressure of the CO2 before entering the marker. This will give you more consistent shots. I've heard that if you take a CO2 tank and screw it into your marker w/o a regulator, remote line or expansion chamber, your FPS can vary up to 20 +/- FPS per shot. With a regulator, that variance is more like 3 to 5 +/- FPS. | Get the Palmer's reg, you can't go wrong. After you break the Palmer in, "you set it and forget it." When I was running strictly off CO2, with the Palmer, I never had to change my settings after the first chrono (after breaking in the reg, of course). |

Ok problem, I boutght the Palmer Stabilizer, now I've got some install
isues. I'm running the c 98 but I'm wondering how to loosen the cvx

What stab did you get the male or female? If you got the female, you just need to take the hose off the stock ASA and install it into the Palmer. If you got the male and need to install the vert adapter, take the gun apart, remove the valve and the hose should come out easy. If it's stuck, heat it up a bit with a blow dryer, to loose the Loctite. Don't try to remove the hose from the valve without taking the valve out, your asking for trouble.
