Hey people. Have a big problem with my vertical expansion chamber. I ordered one and got the one for the custom 98. I was told its the same as the one for the a5, but the end of the hose that goes into the 90 degree adapter is too small. Is there something I dont know or missing? Is there a way around this problem without having to buy another hose? Thanks.

Confusion.  Could you explain in greater detail?

(and x-chambers are x-chambers - they fit all guns.  you are having a fittings problem of some kind)

Everything is hooked up normally, expansion chamber into the tombstone, hose from the chamber, but when it comes to the hose going to the 90 degree fitting, I can turn the hose forever, and it wont catch, because its too small. I can push the hose in and hear it hit the threads and go past it, in other words, the threads touch, but the ones on the hose are not big enough to fit snug in there. Any suggestions?

You can either get new fittings for the x-chamber, or get new fittings for the ASA, or get a new ASA with new fittings, or...

You have incompatible fittings, so you need to get compatible ones.  Buy a hose/line/fittings set from your favorite retailer for a couple of bucks.

Thanks for the advice, but I went to 2 retailers and cant find it. Does it have a name or anything like that? It would be of great help if you could give me a little info about it. Thanks

There's no "it".

Almost all ASAs, regs, x-chambers, etc. use the same fittings.  It's all very standard You can choose between macroline and steel hose.  You will need macroline/ss hose, a 90-degree adapter fitting for the ASA, and either a 90 degree or straight fitting for your x-chamber, depending on the mount.

Which x-chamber did you get?

The x-chamber I received was one for the custom 98 but the retailer assured me that it would fit my a5. Its the xchamber by tippmann.

Ah - you have ss hose from the x-chamber.  What is at the end of the hose?  You may have a straight fitting already on there, which needs to come off to thread the hose onto the 90* fitting.

If that doesn't work, you might also call Tippmann and tell them they sent you the wrong fittings.  See what they say.

How would I go about taking the straight fitting off if I have one on. Im not sure if I have one on, its the first time i dealt with an xchamber.

It should just unscrew.

Do u mean the end of the hose? I just tried unscrewing the end and it wouldnt come off. And if it came off, it would be even smaller and wouldnt fit in the elbow or would it?

I figured out my problem. I received the kit for the custom 98, and because of that, I didnt get the 90 degree elbow. So i emailed the company and they are sending 1 :). Thanks for all ur help.
