Im starting a team next spring and the guys at the shop said that i should buy a second gun so if my gun breaks down during a game i have one ready to go. I was thinking either a Fenix, Custom pro with egrip, or a autococker trilogy comp. I have an ion already so i have hpa and a halo already.

Another Ion.  It's best if your backup is the same as your main.  All your parts and skillz transfer perfectly.

No - if you are willing to spend 300 for two Impulses, you should get another Ion.

i wouldnt get another gun.  If your gun breaks in a game it should be a major problem, because if your that stupid not to look at your gun till you play and not notice minor problems, you shouldnt play.  Use the 300 for a new reg, bolt and stuff like that.

I agree with MeanMan in that you should be checking your gun before the game. But if it breaks during the game, he's going to need another one. The Impulses sound like a good deal, but another Ion is a good idea too, especially because you know how it works already.

I always have a backup gun, sometimes 2. I care for my guns meticulously, but sometimes stuff happens that can't be fixed easily.

Many of us have lost springs, adjustment screws, or other parts. And the field isn't exactly a good place to be doing precision repairs.

I use my backups regularly, either to keep familiar with how they work, or because my primary gun broke and I don't have a choice.

You will if your velocity screw comes out, or if one of your banjo fitting screw gets lost because you didn't tighten it properly in cleaning.

These things happen to everyone if you play long enough.

As much as I hate to say it... if you have the money and feel the need for a backup, and you are serious about the whole speedball tourney scene... a good "backup" is a gun you are already familiar with. So if your primary is an Ion, and you are familiar with the Ion, it may be in your best interest to get another Ion. But keep it stock... dont be pressured to accessorize it the same as your primary. Keep the cost down.

Otherwise... of your given choices... Custom Pro with E-grip. My opinion: a much more reliable gun than the Fenix... and the Trilogy does not impress me at all.

To Traveler:

Actually, something like that happened to me one day when I was on the field. I went into a slide into the snake, and as I hit the ground, my gun got caught on a tie-down stake. When I came up shooting, my ASA had fallen off, and I lost the skrews to it. The whole rest of the day, I ended up using my friend's remote cord.

THE END

The custom pro e is great its the relibility you  need along with some pretty good speed. I am going to by one and transfer all my scenario mods to it so i can have the FASTEST SCNARIO GUN EVER! I dont know why I just like the intimidating looks with unpresidented speed.
