68/4500 is the average size tank. But it really depends on how many shots per tank you're looking to get. But I'd do like Peachey said on the ups, new trigger, feedneck, and QEV.

Alright, after you figure out what tank to go for (I'd suggest a 68ci, 4500 psi tank) Then get a Quick Exhaust Valve (QEV), a clamping feedneck, and a Custom Products regulator. I think that will come to more than $133, but you can easily save up the extra.

68/4500 would probably be the smallest tank I'd get.  QEV(better efficiency) first then a reg. when you have the money.

A new blade trigger would be nice but with the new tournament based guns I just don't think that it's necessary.  Ramping makes it so easy to shoot fast and with full auto I think a trigger upgrade isn't as important as it was when ramping/full auto boards were "illegal"

Tank

qev

feedneck

reg.

He lives in the UK, they don't have full auto on the Euro boards. So I'd suggest to get a good trigger.

I actually think the stock trigger is really nice. I shot my friends Ion the other day on the field and with the factory settings, I probably got up to 10-13 bps. I think a clamping feedneck, QEV, and a reg are the most important ups after the tank.

A QEV(quick exhaust valve) is a must for any ion owner. It will wneable you to be able to shoot quicker(although not over the board limit), lower your operating pressure, will lenthen the life of your noid, and will give you more shots per tank

Well, if you think you could make it up to 17bps, I recommend the Evolution 2. If you think you won't top 12 bps, go with the Revolution with the X-board. Those are my 2 favorite hoppers.

Revvy = $50 (at my proshop.)

Egg = $70 (at my proshop.)

You'll be kicking yourself if you ever play at a different field w/ better fills in the future.

You can only expect about 680 shot's with a 68/3000

Well, the Ion would cost, say $300 with tax. My 68cu 3000psi Pure Energy tank cost $130 with tax. Then, the Revolution hopper would be about $60 with tax, or the Evolution 2 would be about $70-80.

Only thing I would consider would be to get a Stiffi barrel instead of a Freak. But that's just my opinion.

freak barrels are the same as st!ffis as long as you GET THE STAINLESS STEEL INSERTS, the aluminum ones may be pretty, but they can bend and warp VERY VERY easily. say you drop it on the ground, boom you need a new insert. so you might want to get an sm-1 kit, best kit available

1. No. Stiffis are not the same as Freaks. Stiffi>Freak, and I own a Freak kit.

2. Sorry, this has never happened to me. As long as you aren't a total klutz, they should never get dropped and/or bent.

3. SM1 kits are only for Angels. http://www.fixmyangel.com - www.fixmyangel.com

Ha, I just noticed that everything you said was flawed. A new record!

I think that for the price, the Ion is a better gun than the Impulse. Although I know Impulses are awesome guns, by today's standards they aren't the absolute best. I think that setup sounds pretty good, but I think you could ditch the trigger.

By the way, go with the Freak kit with the Stainless Steal inserts. I love my freak to death, and with Marbalizers at about 80ft, I can get a spread of about 9-12 inches. Pretty sweet.
