I think it looks great. Cheetos3254: It looks like an H&K G36, not a "HALO gun". However, milsim guns are supposed to be reliable and durable, ie. Tippmanns. SP has never been known for being either of those. Also, the double trigger is stupid. What's wrong with the guts of an ion inside a nice shell? It's a proven reliable, inexpensive electronic system. You have a reputable company standing behind the product. It would have been nice if the XM8's sight were included, but the weaver rail adds versatility. More importantly, it's a proof of concept- a sort of 'standard' guts could be used from now on, with multiple body shells made of high impact polymers, for all kinds of different looks. You don't have to do the job yourself for it to be a MilSim marker- look at any scepter, armotech, warsensor, or armotech marker- they're stock MilSim. Now SmartParts is in the game, as well as Worr Game Systems with the -VF- Tactical autococker- granted it's still speedballish, but it's a start. I think we're seeing the start of a general movement in the paintball industry to accommodate those of us with a lot of money to spend on MilSim. ------------- "Abortion is not "choice" in America. I personally really like the SP-8. The gun its modeled after is a great assault rifle too. I just hope that it has the closed-bolt system of the Ion. I don't like the double-trigger but I can live with it. I had heard a rumor it would be just a plastic shell around an ION
(like the colored body kits), if anyone gets their hands on one it
would be nice to know for sure how SP went about doing this. I
thought I saw something about another company that was working on a
similar concept, but I can't find anything on it now. I guess SP
beat them to the punch.

Screw the Smart Parts SP8, the JCS MKX8 is much better, costs less and uses no tools to disassemble for internal upgrades, repairs and cleaning

actually, it's the XM8, or the M8 as is will be known shortly, the replacement for the standard M-16 rifle. the real XM8 is the made by Hechler and Kock, and is the first non-U.S. made standard rifle in modern times. go to HK.com, or just google XM8.
