Since the C-3Runs on propane just imagine sticking a lighter up to the end of the barrel when dry-firing it.

As I udnerstand it the C3 uses ignition of the propane as a power source. No propane exits the barrel.

OLD NEWS!
EDIT: now if someone actually got one and played around with it...then it would be cool to create a thread discussing it's review in that particular person's gameplay.

MSRP $229 about the propane, by the time it gets to the chamber it is extremely diluted and coulnt be ignited anyway. Odds are, no exploding C3's

This has nothing to do with this post, but I've been gone for awhile
and I am behind on times. How does the C-3 work, exactly? Does it have
a BBQ grill igniter kind of thing in it, and it ignites the propane
which makes the source of energy?
And when did Tippmann come out with this??

Not according to APG, says that there isnt enough propane to combust and create an explosion. What do they know anyway.

No kidding; You give a bunch of people any possible hint that they might get an opportunity to blow themselves up and they go nuts trying to figure out the best way.
I'm actually surprised Klaus hasn't come up with anything good yet- he's usually reliable when it comes to weird explosion-based mods.

A while back I posted a story about how my friend jimmy-rigged a propane canister to his 98c, and held one of those long candle ignitors to the end...sadly, there was not nearly enough pressure in the propane tank to keep the marker cycling fully, so he got the flame thrower effect; he melted his ball detent, but not much further damage...

I can see it now:
NEWS REPORT: New Tippman Pneumatics propane paintball marker design, the Tippmann C-3, is allegedly foolproof, but many have ignored this claim by seeking out various ways to make the marker go all 'splodey like! So far the only successfull attempt was made by a lonely Tippman forum member, a.k.a. Klaus (which is also the first casualty). When asked how they felt about the untimely loss of their son his parents had this to say: "We had a son? Since when?"
just kiddin with ya!

i have no problem w/ the C3 unlike you gommers, i greatly appreciate the fact that it saves lots of balls, and lots of dinero, my only thing is that they finally got made a very economic gun. now they have to make it look better. they made one giant leap ahead w/ the whole propane thing, but a step back with the design. imagine this friends, breed the custom and the C3. oh the possibilitys.
