I told my parents that it's better to spend my time playing paintball instead of doing drugs, and that it's better to spend my money on paint rather than hookers.

Why don't you try respecting your parent decisions, they aren't going to change their mind, if they let you play it'd be because you annoyed them way too much, and will make them think you are more immature than they must already think you are if they feel you can't handle a simple game of tag.

I don't respect my parents' decision because neither one of them have ever played a team sport or even watched one, for that matter. They have absolutely no idea what I and all my friends get out of paintball, and all the new people I have met over my short paintball career. There is just no way to tell them the way I feel when I play, and I don't think they'll ever get it.

Just never call it a gun call it a marker, call it outs not kills and
deffinetly tell them that it helps you get off the couch and doing
exersize.

I highly doubt they never were involved in any team activity, let alone a team sport for one thing, and chances are they probably do know, I knew what that was like, it doesn't last, especially if you have any desire for going beyond playing a couple weekends every few months with buds or at a field, especially tournament paintball (not speedball, competetion for prizes, it kills any bit of a good time as far as I am concerned)

Do you have a girlfriend?
my friends parents are the same way, they dont like guns. His
girlfriend got him a gun for his 18th birthday (he didnt ask her, she
just did it) and now he just ignores his parents.
Good times.

Don't ignore your parents, or go against their wishes. This will only
set you up for a heap load of trouble, and really strain your relations
with your parents.
Since they don't like guns, load up Unreal Tournament, Counter Strike,
Soldier of Fortune and so forth on your computer. Make sure they see
you playing these games, and then casually note that you're getting
desensetized to these games, and at least paintball doesn't have blood.
Call it an adualts version of "tag". You're not shooting them, you're "tagging" them, and they come back next game
Actually take them to a paintball field to watch. Do you have any
friends whose parents that play? Get them to talk to your parents. Do
you have any friends whose parents go to watch? Have them invite your
parents along.
Tell them it's safer than soccer (research this out, I've seen the stats somewhere)
Ask them how its any different than the NES gun for duckhunt?
Tell them that just becuase you play paintball, doesn't mean you'll
acquire the means/skills to shoot a real gun (there are some big
differences)

paintball is a great way to get exercise. it also builds communication and team work skills. if you transport and shoot your marker in a safe manner you wont have any trouble.

You obviously have no clue on how to convince someone's parents.
Tell them its safe. Give them statistics proving its pretty much safer
than any sport out there. Tell them that it's better to play paintball
all day than sit in front of the t.v. or computer all day. Tell them
what everyone else said too. At first my parents said no, but I kept
asking and proving that I was right and they finally let me buy one.

Tell your bleeding heart liberal cry baby parents about the 2nd amendment!
"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them." (Richard Henry Lee, Virginia delegate to the Continental Congress, initiator of the Declaration of Independence, and member of the first Senate, which passed the Bill of Rights.)
"The great object is that every man be armed . . . Everyone who is able may have a gun." (Patrick Henry, in the Virginia Convention on the ratification of the Constitution.)
"The advantage of being armed . . . the Americans possess over the people of all other nations . . . Notwithstanding the military establishments in the several Kingdoms of Europe, which are carried as far as the public resources will bear, the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." (James Madison, author of the Bill of Rights, in his Federalist Paper No. 46.)
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." (Second Amendment to the Constitution.)

Yeah, because I have never had parents before, guess what you are NOT going to change their mind, anything that looks close to it is exactly what I described, they are tired of Johnny whining every day. Showing them "facts" from APG, or any other company that has an invested interest in getting new people to play, is BIASED, if I showed or said any of the things you people are saying, they would tell me the exact same thing because its true.
You fit my point exactly, you made your point and they still refuse but you kept bugging them with the same biased information over and over again until they caved in, that isn't winning an arguement, thats wearing down an opponent.

if you go to a paintball field, have ur parents talk to whoever owns the field
|

When they're both in the living room reading, boldy walk into the room,
and in a strong, clear voice, say "As soon as I'm 18 I'm going to join
the marines!" Then pause for dramatic effect, and in a lower voice,
say: "unless of course you let me get a paintball marker. Then I'll
rethink my decision and maby go to College instead".

Same thing for me I got the exact same result as if I hadnt won the
argument. And yeah, now that I do have it, they have changed their
minds, they like it when I go play paintball.

In my opinion, winning an argument and wearing down an opponent to the degree that they can no longer argue are the same things. If my mom would just stop bugging my about shooting a, and I quote, "Firearm" in the back yard, I would be sooooo much happier.
