i know everyone is sick and tired of stupid propane and c-3 ideas, but this one is legitimate! i figured it would be a good idea for tippmann to make a refillable 16 oz propane cylinder. you know how airsoft gas guns use a charger to fill the mag with propane or green gas? well, make an adapter that screws on to one of those ginormous refillable tanks most people have in their garage (you know, the ones that run the gas grills). that way, you can shove one of those in the back of your car and charge the cylinder whenever you want and never run out of air (or if you do, just refill the big tank for a few bucks)! if this idea gets positive responses, i'll draw a quick pic.

Why?

I bought two tanks at Wal-Mart for $3.87 total.  That's 100,000 shots.  Enough for a several years of pump play.  Why would I pay even a dollar for a fill, when I can get a fresh tank for two dollars?

That, and it just adds more danger to playing with propane.

Local boy blown to bits while trying to fill his paintball take in his garage.

Well...That still happens, but this time the house caught on fire.

Yeah,  even 50,000  shots will last the most trigger  happy people at least several months.

So really,  forget about refilling.    If they made a refillable tank that costed a bit extra instead of a disposable one,  it would take years for that to pay itself off.

You can already refill 16.4oz "disposable" tanks using 20lb tanks and a ready-bought kit.

Although not sure why you'd need to, given the fact that a single disposable would last you nearly forever... and buying a new one is much easier, and not expensive to begin with.

It's not even worth the trouble of refilling the tanks.

huh. well, i never looked into the more noir side of this. i just assumed it would be handy to have maybe 100's of thousands of shots available at hand. maybe it doesnt have practical value. i just figured what the heck. sorry for the stupid post.

That's ok. You admitted it, so all is forgiven. Of course, if it happens again, you're gonna get slapped with a fish, or beaten with a super-chronium barrel. Your choice.
