isn't it the msmsgs.exe file running windows messenger? you can always go remove that easily in xp.

go to the control panel and click "add or remove programs" then on the left side click on "add or remove windows components" and uncheck windows messenger in the list and hit next. if you need a screenshot i can provide one.

go to ur control panel. when the window pops up, on the left hand side click on Add/Remove Window Componets. Scroll all the way down and Windows Messenger should be there. you should figure out the rest.

^^You have no right to even comment on him.

I think what you need to do is go to add/remove programs, then add/remove microsoft components, then uncheck the propper program. See if that works.

Go to your start bar.

Click on Run.

Type in "msconfig"

A box will come up.  Click the tab all the way to the right labelled startup.

Unclick all boxes.

It turns everything off at startup.  So all you have to do is just click what you wanna use instead of everything you dont running too.
