dont know if any of the games do this, but...

to add to this what about resupply vehicles for teams?

i was thinking it would be kinda cool to see simulated landing craft for d day games for a stormed beach aproach. i realize that you couldnt use boats, but if you were to make something to use on land that would be able to carry at least 5-10 players and have it with a front ramp that would drop so you could get out on the "beach" area. you could have reffs or other non players drive these things between a stageing area and the beach area and go back for more players. thought it would be an interesting approach for the starting of a dday game.

Google 'Oklahoma D-Day'

Use the search. Search is your friend.

If you actually listened to my advice, you'd see that exactly what you proposed has been widely done for years at scenario events like D-day, plus MANY others. Boats, 'tanks', off road vehicles, helicopters and even primitive battlemechs have appeared in scenarios. Before you get snippy with me son, maybe consider that I wouldn't make a post like that without a reason to. This is the dieas forum, and you've posted what appears to be an idea- an already widey used one.

If you're sick of seeing 'google this, google that', then quit asking questions without attempting to do some research first. Capice?

some of you are pretty arrogant

1. i did research some stuff, and found that no game was using a simulated landing craft ie a boat for storming a beach.

2. i know that some games allow vehicles, tanks, and apc's. i was just trying to see about using the idea of an actual beach storm as the starting battle of a scenerio.

3. some of you realy need to learn not to be so lazy and actualy type a response rather than qoute cause it just makes you look like a mindless follower.

well i dont know about u but i dont think id wanna spend a whole butt load of money building a "beach" and sticking a whole bunch of boats that also cost money, in a paintball field for just to sit in for a couple of minutes then u get out and do somthen else, seems kinda pointless to me...

It would be a good way to begin a historic scenario game and thats about all it would be good for. It would cost way too much to be implemented though.

ok sneaky sniper, i said that you shouldnt use real boats, but simulate it. you could use a pick up truck drivin backwards for all i care and lay down behind the tail gate till you get to the "simulated beach"

I was just browsing your forum looking for m98custom stuff and noticed this thread so just wanted to add my 2 cents

CV222005, I think some of them are being "arrogant" because maybe because a lot of people (not always) research a topic before they start going to a secondary source; The forum members. It's okay to post an idea I would think.. unless the idea was generally widely known.

If you did do research on the first reply by brihard, you will notice on google the search for "oklahoma dday" results include the actual homepage of the game. This game does use simulated landing craft to storm the Atlantic Wall (which is a beach... D-Day.. beach... Atlantic wall...). I've played at this event, as many other people have. Oklahoma D-Day boasts that they have attendance in the thousands and plenty of people have heard/played/discussed this event. So yes, maybe some might be a little "arrogant" in saying that the search engine was your friend, or, because the game and the knowledge of the simulated landing craft are both generally widely known.

People use quotes so that they can make a point, case, stance, whatever. Also... in this case... someone has pretty much made a sufficient reply to your post... go to oklahomadday.com  check it out... maybe go to the game. sign up for the allies.. ride in one of their landing craft... other people can't spell it out for you.

just my 2 cents

    And I'm using quotes...

Oklahoma D-day does use simulated landing craft, along with a few boats that actually take soldiers and land them on the beach.
